Here's my delema.
Going to be installing about 3-400lbs of stereo equiptment in the back of my P5, thats including the box for weight.
now I've been told to go with coilovers to increase the spring rate in the rear to handle the load and reduce sag.
But reading the posts people say coilovers are noisy and ride rough.
is there an alternative, I do want to lower the car but only about an inch, plan on putting 18's on her and just want to get rid of the gap.
what are the best coilovers I can get without grabbing my ancles.
and is there an alternative?

why do you want coilovers then? Doesn't sound like you will need to adjust teh ride height more than once, so just get 2" drop springs, if the ride has too much of a gap, cut a coil off, unless you autocross your car regularly

with 300 lbs of stereo equip in the back the car will lower an inch for you lol

If you are going to be putting that much weight into the rear of the car, you may not even need that much of a drop. I'd do the stereo first, and see how the car sits. The only really good thing about a coilover set up is that you can fine tune the height to exactly what you want. If you only lower you car 1 inch in front, with the added weight, the rear may only need an extra .5". Coilovers would work perfect in this case, and at a near-stock height, they perform just as well as lowered springs.

was told drop spring would start to sag with the weight.
now if they wont I'll go with drop springs but the weight issue is the only reason for going with coilovers, and I dont want drag my ass on the ground.

coilovers are just springs in a clamp. If drop springs sag, so would coilovers =) assuming we are talking about skunk2/ground control style coilovers, and not the JIC/Tein coilovers

With the wieght in the back I would go with coilovers so you can adjust the ride hieght in the front and the back so the car rides level.

We sell Coil Overs for your car with a shock package. But really that won't do much for your car cuz the spring travel will still be the same. Best thing to do is possibly put a bigger bumpsto in there or putting some spacers in between your springs.
