Cobb Update!

I thought I read on the other forum that they will have a stage 1 map for a completely stock car then another stage 1 map for a car with only an intake. After that the Stage 2 maps require TBE and go up from there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

standard cobb maps have stage 1 or stage 2 (using both 91 and 93 octane gasolines). stage 1 = stock intake or cobb sri...stage 2 = stock intake or cobb sri + TBE.

ya, it would have to be a stage 1.5 in addition to a stage 1 and stage 2. this is why i kinda doubt it's gonna be happening anytime soon, because i can't see any other car that they've done this for...=/

When you say that they haven't made a custom map for other cars (the 1.5 map), are you referring to the Subarus? If so, does Subaru even make a CAI like MS does for the 3?

If they don't, wouldn't that make this a special case? I guess I am being a little hopeful (scratch)

oh dang...josh@cobb just pwnd the ms6...+_+;

"We do not have current plans for the MS6. As small as the demand for MS3 ones is relatively speaking, there is much less for the MS6. If we see a large population of enthusiasts wanting them or we get some free time (HAHAHAHAHAHA, thats funny, us free time Smile ) than we may. But it is not on the schedule at this time."

ya, i was talkin about the subbies and evos (who are the only ones with AP out).

no, i don't think subbies have a manufacturer CAI out, but i also think that at best, the "stage 1.5" will be an afterthought that cobb has after the official release of the normal stage1/stage2. quite honestly, if they ended up delaying the release of the regular maps for a stage 1.5, i would be very disappointed! (bang)

Subaru does have an intake available (SPT) it is a short ram intake and very similar to the cobb short ram for the Subaru WRXs. Short ram intakes typically do not have any issues on the Cobb tuning maps for the Subarus.

well, the fact that it's a short ram doesn't necessarily mean anything, but i'm assuming that SPT took more time that mazda did and actually made a good MAF housing that maintains stock AFR. if this is the case, then it would work perfectly fine with the stage 1 map.

btw...i think it's unbelievably lame that mazdaspeed could not come out with a CAI with proper stock AFR...(bang)

That was mean. I laughed anyways.

Those poor guys with the MS6 (upbum)

oh, i definitely feel really bad for them! if cobb decided that they were not going to invest in making an AP for the ms3, i think i might have to go sacrifice some goats till the gods of modding decided to bless us with some cobble cobble! :O~

haha...ya, i think the first thing an AP does is check to see what kind of car it is that it's about to flash...as soon as it realizes that it's a ms6, it will likely abort out and tell you to DIAF...^^;

Damn, If that's true, then ms6 owners can't even experiment with this. But they only have to wait for the CP-E EMS Ver. 2.0
