cobb ap ms3/ms6

yes. but not when its installed on his car.
The hardware is the same, but i'm pretty sure youll have to downloadthe firmware from cobb's website.

yea, but he has to unmarry it from his car first. you both cant be using it at once

get him to return the ecu to stock, then load it onto yours. if it doesnt work (different cars) then go on cobb website and see if they have anything regarding using it on the different speeds. theres a couple guys from cobb on this forum too, u could ask them for better explanation. ill try and find there screen name so u can pm them

i cant remember or find them. hopefully one of the mods comes by this thread and will help out

The AccessPORT for the MS3 and the MS6 are the same and can be used on both cars, naturally. However, one AccessPORT will not flash both cars. Since your friend has installed his AccessPORT on his car, it will only work on his car. You cannot use the AP to work on your car too while it is still "married" to your friends car.

Simply put, you can only use one AccessPORT on one car at a time. You cannot flash multiple cars with a single AccessPORT. That is, you can't go in on an AP unit with your buddies and flash all of your cars with the same unit.

How do you sell your AP then if you dont want it any more? Can you not "un-marry" it and then "marry" it to another ECU? So in essence, you can flash one car, unmarry it, flash another and be done with it? Or does "un-marrying" it put the original to stock?

Yes, you can unmarry your AP and then sell it on. But the AP flashes a stock ROM back onto the car so it goes back to stock. However, it seems like the gentleman above was wondering if he could use the same AP to flash multiple cars at once.
