Cobb AP Discussion Thread

AccessTuner Pro (ATP) - shop tuning program
AccessTuner Race (ATR) - end user tuning program

I'm sure they could tune it in ATR if they wanted to, but most shops with Cobb backing will have access to ATP, or the option to purchase it. From what I understand, the programs are almost identical.

I see now. So if worst comes to worst I could just bring in my cobb ap with the ATR software and the shop could tune it . . .

My car isnt liking the cold weather. It was 50 out last night. Took the revs up high without putting any load on the engine. kr went .4, 1.4, 2.8, 3.4. Pushed in the clutch to get the rpms back down. Knock alert on the DH started flashing. I am always seeing upwards of 1.0 every time I go through the gears.

P.S.- Anyone with the PTP turbo fix have their dipstick come out? Ever since I have installed the fix when I open the hood the dipstick is out an inch and oil is sprayed all over the intake manifold and the valve cover. Does it really create this much crank case pressure?? It got so constant that I now have to use a zip tie to keep the stick down in position. Very odd.

what!?!?.. that is really odd.. i couldnt even being to think what else it could be. other then the little ring that keep the dipstick locked down is messed up somehow and its easily pushed up by pressure. but even then thats really weird.. it doesnt happen to me.

Is yours very easy to pull out? Mine doesnt have much resistance. Maybe it is the o ring. Will have to try and replace that to be sure.

A couple of other people have had this happen to them with the PTP fix over on another forum (MSF). I think they all had OCC setups though. Is that true for you? I would definitely address the problem if I were you, one of them had a pic of his entire engine bay covered in oil.

I will have to search on there. I am running an OCC with a dual pcv.

Wow. Also drained over 8 onces out of the catch can tonight. Only been 2.5 weeks since I drained.

Yea. When it got close to the end it was like pudding dripping out. Had to remove the niple completely to let the stuff drop.

LOL, you guys are gonna hate me right now but on the stage 1 91 TIHSF maps from cobb running 90 octane gas i get 0 knock lol. But still the throttle does not read more then 63% duty cycle. :(

My recommendation is that unless you have access to 93 octane with 10% ethanol or 94 octane or higher that you do not run a 93 octane map. I think this is a partial reason people are running into knock. It is much better to be cautious with this than to be negligent with your car.

If you only have access to pure 93 octane (no ethanol) I recommend you use a 91 map. The performance loss at this level with this engine is virtually unnoticeable. However, the damage and knock you may experience if you do not follow this recommendation will be plenty noticeable.

I think this is part of what Zinger has just experienced by changing to a 91 map.

(attention)

what? i have never ran a 93 map. only the 91 map and i am currently running 90 octane because thats all huskey station up by where i was working had.

Then I'll retract that last statement. However, I continue to strongly recommend what I stated above.

no no it sure is true but since i run in colder temps its not as big of an issue for me. hell when i first got the ap i was running 87 octane and only getting max of 1.8 kr. yay for canada lol. (drive)

fyi, that is the only way to get all the stuff out anyways since since that drain on the sm catch can goes into the can about 1/4".
