Cobb AP Discussion Thread

Put the S2 93 v101e map back on my car yesterday. I haven't posted it but I will add it to this thread via a zip folder sometime this afternoon. I just converted the laptop to Win7, so my AP files haven't been moved over yet.

I did see the knock again more than I had in past days, but I did the same thing - stayed in cruise until it went away. It immediately started going down to shorter spurts and seems to be all but eliminated already.

also dont forget to turn everything else off. u dont want the battery dying while your saving your map.

Would someone look at this and tell me what they think. I am using Stage 1 mscai 93 v1.05. I did this on the way home. Honestly, I have no idea what I am looking at

those are the recorded numbers of the datalog.
There is no knock retard, one minor spike of 0.7 but otherwise all 0's.

when you get on it the throttle opens to about 74% and thats when the kr changes.

time 67.09 <-- this is the line i was talking about.

i would say everything looks good, afr gets a little rich and you lose some power from that but its still not bad.

Couple Questions. I got a used AP and it has some preloaded maps with a stock ver 99 and a stock v 101. It never asked me when I plugged it in to save my stock map which I wanted to do (even though there are 2 already therer). Also I was trying to figure out how to display boost and other parameters to no avail. Didn't realize the OBD plug was so huge. Difficult to drive with that monster under there.

When its on there are 3 main screens. One that says troubleshoot. One that says install cobb ap (maps). And another options screen.

You need to install the AccessPORT first. That is what the install screen is. The AccessPORT cannot function on your car until it is installed and it flashes a new map onto your car. Once you hit install, it will ask you if you want to save your stock map. This is not crucial and you can skip it. If you do decide to save the stock rom, make sure your battery is 100% charged, you can even put a charger on your battery to ensure that your voltage does not dip.

accessport with cpe single exit and no cats

planning on ordering an accessport here soon but all of the inforation i have looked at is not answering my question. this might have been posted already but i have not seen it.

i have a turboback, single exit cpe exhaust with a cpe intake and a hks bov. from what i have read, the maps that they have out say that the exhaust needs to have a high flow cat, or on others you cant have an after market intake or bov.

if there is anyone that has these mods, or ones similar and knows that it is safe to run the accessport on them can you please let me know.

Can I get a map recommendation....mods are Test Pipe, and speedie6 TIP (currently stock airbox). Does a test pipe qualify me for Stage2 maps? I use 93 octane.
Thanks!

I'd also go with a Stage 2 93 map.

I actually got the AP manager and AP updater working on my Win7 64-bit setup today. I even decided to do some ECU mapping with the dongle connected to the laptop, which was pretty cool.

I am going to read into it a little further, but it looks like the ignition tables need a little finessing, and I need to learn and actually calibrate the MAF.

COBB AP on TOTALLY Stock Speed6

I live in the Great White North & am considering purchasing a Cobb AP. Other than my coil-overs, my '07 Speed6 is bone stock; I run with 94 octane fuel. I may upgrade the exhaust system at some point, but that's about all.

It gets WAY cold up here; I park outside (so sad (gah) no garage), and last winter my car started no problem even when the temp dipped below -40 c.
. . . Will the AP affect starting (ignition) in severely cold weather?

Cheers.

Short answer, no. It shouldn't. I've had no issues with it here in Washington, even if it's not as cold as where you...
