Cobb AP Discussion Thread

I'd run either the S1 for the FUCAI or the Stage 2 93 map. I'm pretty sure you can cross intake maps, unless its the AEM/MS CAI since they're identical.

I ran S2 93 without any issues, even though I had the TIH and MSCAI, I would imagine you can do the same.

hey ive noticed that since i installed my ap, my mpg has gone way down. i used to get 525-575 km a tank. and now im getting 500ish. and thats not getting on it at all. anyone kno why this could be?

Are you using the 64-bit beta software? I never did get that to work right, so I'm still using my 32-bit XP image to run all my Cobb and DH stuff.

I don't believe so... I've never done any upgrades as far as that goes...

How can you tell?

I just purchased an AP and I have a question about which map I should run. I have a corksport cat back exhaust, mazdaspeed cai, and a cobb turbo inlet pipe. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Austin

Is anyone running the AP maps with a forge BPV? Recipe for zoom-zoom-boom or not so bad?

you'll be fine. bypass valves do not really have an affect on the map unless you are running them vta and then the only affect is your will run rich during shifts.

I'm running Cobb's maps with a Forge BPV. Like Bova said, the BPV nothing to do with it if you're in recirc.

Newb

Hey guys, I've got an AP shipping out to me, and I'm straight on what map I should use and all that, I just want to get up to speed on all this update stuff before I get it. I see there's a page where you apply for the ATR program - is that new or an update? And if somebody could give me a brief explanation of how to apply the new LC and FFS settings that'd be great. Thanks fellas.

what amount of knock is safe knock or pulled timing? at what point does it start to become a time to be concerned?

Are you seeing it at part throttle or WOT? .4-.7 is nothing to be worried about, anything above 5 at PT and anything above 2.5 at WOT is a concern IMO.

Hey guys just got an AP, installed the Stage1 91 Fujita map (mods are Fujita CAI, Cobb TIP, Magnaflow Catback) I've read this whole thread, but I've got an LTFT question. Are they generally all over the place at first? because my first drive it got as far as -16/4. Will it get better over time or should I try a new map after seeing those numbers?

Has anyone updated their AP and gotten an error? I just got mine yesterday and the first thing I did was downloaded the software from the CD and Click on the AP update icon. Now, everytime I have my AP connected to the PC, on the AP display it shows "Update" constantly. Has anyone had this problem?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, they will get better over time.

its a bug and cobb is working on it. the ap will work just fine. cobb hasn't released any new firmware, so as long as you have the newest one you will be fine.

i just tried to update the AP using the new 64bit version that cobb released but now the AP is completely frozen. it froze on step 17/17, now the screen is stuck on updating even when its plugged into the car. so ppl beware of the new update. i'll be giving cobb a call tomorrow.

edit: apparently im not the first that this has happened to.

Hey mine froze on that screen too. What you need to do is plug the AP in, open up AP manager and go to the "view" tab on top, then switch the view to advanced, and the AP will unfreeze. I called with the same problem and this is the quick fix they gave me. Your AP should, in fact, be updated though, because mine froze somewhere on that x/17 steps part and it was already updated but the AP updater "has trouble finishing." Try it out
