Clunking noise coming from the front end.

There is a clunking sound coming from my front end, sounds like its in the wheel well area. When I'm driving on a flat surface or going over a bump. Any idea what it could be?? Thanks for the help.

Worn sway bar bushings/endlinks letting the sway bar move to much, shock mounts could be toast, LCA bushings.

I found when checking the sway bar that it pays to inspect with the car on ramps under tension, and then with it on jackstands and both wheels off as well. Mine had a good amount of lateral movement, the bushings were completely shot causing it to contact the body of the car when going over bumps, I replaced the end links as well as I found they were loose and would make a metallic clicking sound as well. No more noises for me.

I'd second what Hon2bmw said. I was experiencing the same sort of clunking, and it wound up being my lower control arm. May be worth taking a look at your engine mounts too, they're easy enough to check, although they probably would sound like they were coming from somewhere other than the wheel well.

The same thing happened to me. I shook my car from the front then notice a clicking noise. I took off the stabilizer link, shook the car and was surprised the clicking stop. Easy fix for me.

Mines has a "clunk" on the front end too and i looked under there and i saw the lower control arm bushings were bad. I placed an order for them already.

So it was my stabilizer bar end link. Apparently I put the refillable ones on my car and never bothered to regrease them... If I had a brain I would be dangerous... Thank you to everyone that chimed in and helped me figure this out!
