:p

I love it... Im so siked for sunday!! I still cant get over that play, i thought they were done for sure.

Just thought that i'd let everyone know. We had a cold snap with weather around -45 with the windchill. My E bushings are done. The MP3 is clunking like a bastard once again. Sorry to disappoint everyone:(

yeh that sux what did u do pour some hot water on it? I had a lil ice on my window the other day and went to the drive through and it wouldnt go down

SomaMP3 are you saying the E's died?

And did you have a new bar?

Just clarifying. I've had mine now over 2 months. not a sound, and we have also had very cold nights of 30-40 below at times.

Yeah, the E's are dead. But i didn't have a new bar. They just threw them on the old one. Don't know what i'll do now. The clunk sure isn't as bad as with the other bushings but its there. Its more of a softer clunk. Not as noticeable:confused:

Soma,

If it helps I think my clunk has also come back. Much like yours, it wasn't a new bar. The clunk sounds different now. less of a 'clunk' and kind of like a dull thump, or 'whump' sound.

Get a New bar guys. CAn't blame the bushings until you have a fresh start back there. So far the only ones that have failed are ones with used bars, and still that's only 3 including you two. How many kms/miles and time you think?

My bar was also used, but only about 5000kms worth. So I may be in the same boat at some point.

Good luck!

I think they last just over 5,000km on an old bar.

Fortuantly I mentioned the bar to the service manager before tehy put the E's on so this should be easier to go back with now.

Well, hold on here SomaMP3. I too live in the same city as you, get the same weather, and my E's have not failed yet (installed back in Sept. on the original bar) and I have close to 4k on them already.

That's good to hear.

Well, my bar has over 100,000kms on it:eek: My bushings lasted around 8,000kms. I'm sure that it will be that easy to get them to buy me a new stabilizer bar. Even though i'm still under warranty. Maybe i'll call mazda canada on friday:)

Granted I'm not a veteran like you guys at this bushing stuff, but I'm also pretty much convinced that it's just a bad bar for Soma. It's been adequately cold/wet/slushy/snowy here and I kid you not, the road I take to work every day is the worst road on this entire planet outside of the roads in Afghanistan. I mean that road alone is probably killing my entire car but I still haven't heard a peep out of the E bushings. I'm almost fully convinced that Mazda has finally fixed the problem.....although the real test will be to pay to get new bushings put on in the middle of summer to see if there's a noticable handling improvment....the bushings might be quiet but are they working up to par like they should? Only time will tell.

This would be so much easier if Mazda would, once again, remove its head from its anus and put a note in the TSB so the stupid grease monkies know that they might have to replace the bar along with the bushings. But of course Mazda must repeat history and make it as tough on the owners as possible...I dread the day I have to convince my dealer to give me a new bar. If it's not in the bulliten it will be like pulling teeth. Hopefully I'll never have to do it.

Well, the MP3 has 101,000kms!!!!!! Just reached the big 100,000 at xmas time. But i'm gonna check into the bar thing. I'd look under the car but i don't want to lay in a foot of snow:cool:

Just an update for those too lazy to read.

Part 156E was the last release of the bushings. They were released to people (depending on location) anywhere from Sept-Nov 2003. Only ones that have failed at this point ( 4 in total as of Jan 20th,2004 ) have had old sway bars.

We're crossing our fingers and hoping that these very few failures were all due to the worn part of the bar where the bushings attach.

At this point there is no solid proof that the E bushings do not work once setup properly.

Keep you fingers crossed.

I hope I didn't jinx myself by typing this.

So if the clunk is apparent after a few K, then aren't all sway bars "old" when you get the new bushings put in? Just a thought.

5000 kms on my "E's" and still no clunk. The weather here has been really bad as well (Not Winnipeg or NFLD bad mind you), all kinds of driving on all kinds of roads.
