I occasionally try to listen to football or F1 on the sports channel on AM and it is awfull.
ladygrey said:I don't know if this is the case all over the US, but AM radio is still pretty big around here. That's where all the political talk radio and sports reside. When I had a rough commute I listened to the AM news station for traffic reports. The sound is a little flat especially for music (for awhile the kids only ever wanted to listen to Radio Disney which is on the AM band here) but the reception is good unless you are in a parking garage or under an overpass on the highway. Our big news stations here have very strong signals that reach into several neighboring states.

Thought so!Zoom5Zoom said:Sorry lady but AM died years ago with 8 Track Tape Decks.... really.
Not necessarily. If there's one thing AM is good at, is distance. Not sure how urban/country ladygrey is, but I do know she's in Colorado which is very mountainous and AM surely owns FM in being able to hold a signal over the duration of a trip.Zoom5Zoom said:Sorry lady but AM died years ago with 8 Track Tape Decks.... really.
