cheated at dealership

Guys, what you would recommend to do in this case:
When I bought my CX-7, I agreed with dealer, that they will install remote start on my car, b/c they did not have at that time CX-7 in stock with remote start. I will not complain, that to install remote start they ask me to bring my CX-7 4 times, and each time for whole day. It is not a problem. Problem is that i realize today after picking-up my car from dealership that they installed crappy aftermarket remote start ($50), not genuine Mazda remote start ($250)!!! I calculated price for the car assuming price of Mazda remote start. And one of reasons why I wanted remote start it was "quick stop" feature! but this crap don't have it! So... what I should to do in this case?

If you just bought it, threaten them that you will return the car. Let them know that they didn't disclose that they used an aftermarket remote starter and you prefer the OEM. Fight for your right....to party

BTW, the OEM remote starter is awesome. I have it on my CX7 and the range is very very good. Plus, the quick stop feature is nice. PM me if you want tutorial on using this feature since it can be tricky

mmm I did not like to return car. I just want to have my remote start. and I already ahve 400 miles on it.
Unfortenatelly I don't have any paper trail about OEM remote start, just about remote start installed. I just assumed that mazda dealership should use mazda genuine parts. I even did'n thought taht it can be something else than mazda remote start

Threaten is the word, bro. You're not actually returning the car. Trust me, they don't want you to return the car either but if you act serious, they'll accomodate you. Just tell them that you were misled with the remote starter and would like to have the OEM. If they tell you to fork some money, tell them to remove the aftermarket RS and give you an OEM since you said, it's in the package. If they refuse, go speak with the manager or owner....there's a lot of different ways for them to budge.

hehe It was a deal with the manager... :|

They really need to make it right and give you what you bargained for. Don't accept the garbage substitute.

I too have the OEM remote and can attest to it being a great product.

But more importantly, they owe you. If the manager at the dealership doesn't fix it, keep going up the corporate chain.

They should install the OEM remote ASAP. What amazes me is the difference between your dealer and mine wrt solving problems. They recently put a small scratch in my bumper. When I showed it to them, they were prepared to send it to a body shop and pay nearly $400 to make it perfect. I told them that was overkill and to just do a simple touch-up. But their perspective was they wanted to do what they could to make me happy.

I also had a misunderstanding with the service dept over what my salesperson promised. I had no paper trail but once they confirmed the promise, they lived up to it.

There is no excuse for your dealer's conduct. Be strong, you are so in the right.

i would just go and complain untill you get what you were promised. fight your way to get what is yours. if someone asks for your seat...DONT GET UP

Damn! Remote start it is only the part of the problem...
Then they tried to install CD-MP3 changer (it is another story, I may tell you later, if you wish) they left very noticeble sratches on interrior panel and on alluminium trim , and scratch on leather on the steering wheel... And tehy just tell me "sorry about that"...

Geez. That really stinks. I feel terrible for you. I hope they grow a conscience. Failing that, maybe they can come to appreciate that customer satisfaction is what brings in new business and keeps old.

You deserve to be treated much better than you have. I'd raise the issue of the interior scratches with their service manager and the franchise owner if need be. There is no excuse for such carelessness. If they don't value your car, how do they expect to sell them?

I'm just floored.

Once you get this sorted out, do you have another Mazda dealer nearby that you can switch to for future service?

Yes, I have another (from whom I had my Mazda3) but this dealreship is top rated in the area... Why I decided to switch to tehm. I guess it is just because I fight them hard during buying process. I'm floored them on price... so here we see the side effect of that..

Maybe they'll step up and show themselves to be deserving of their top rating. Playing sore loser with you doesn't cut it.

deal with it. If you didn't ask for OEM stuff they don't have to put in OEM stuff.

This falls under the "Buyer Beware" line of thinking. You were not "Cheated" you just didn't pay attention to the whole deal.

This happened to my mom when she bought a Daewoo (ugh) and negotiated a cruise control package that wasn't on the base model. They ended up installing this POS aftermarket cruise control that ended up interfering with her turn signal knob -- it was a complete mess. She complained up and down the ladder and eventually they exchanged her entire car for one with the OEM cruise control already installed.

You can get what you negotiated, don't give up!

It is so strange how a large percentage of people buying remote starts through the dealership for the CX-7 are getting after-market parts. My remote start is Mazda, it has the Mazda symbol on it and on the back it says "Tastes Like Chicken".

No wait, it says "Code Systems, Inc."
