Mazda "Blue" Mp3
Have any of ever heard of the oil Royal Purple, and if you have is it really worth it? Are any of you trying it? and if you are did u see any difference? Another question what size oil filter do we need on our Mp3? What do you think is the best type of oil out on the market right now? Thanks alot on any info.

(1) I haven't and don't know
(2) see above
(3) ditto
(4) it's small! :) depends upon what brand - so I can't give you a size or number
(5) MOBIL 1 (that seems to be what most people are running)

i have heard ogf it, but dont know anything about it.

i have been using mobil 1, but i got redline 5w 30 for my next oil change

for my next oil change i am going to try Mobil 1 Super Synthetic 5w-30. I want to stick all mobil one, so if i was going to go with a mobil 1 oil filter then what size would i need?

I use the filter from the 626 V6 engine. It's about twice the size of the stock one and fits perfectly. and I run AmsOil 10w-30. Change it every 5000m or so.

I use the Purolator 14622 filter and Formula Shell 5w-30 oil from Advance Auto Parts.

I just switched to my "Summer" oil since it gets so damn hot here...
I went from Castrol GTX 5w-30 to Castrol Fully Synthetic 10W-30.

I've always used OEM Mazda filters with every oil change, I bought 20, along with drain plug washers, shortly after I bought the car... I got them here, www.trussvillemazda.com for $4.25 a piece. I figured I'd never have trouble with fitment or performance that way.

That's another thing I meant to mention. The crush washers are a good thing to pick up at the dealer. They are a few cents a piece and keep the drain plug from leaking.

Also Mazda makes the oil filter very well. It has an anti-drainback valve which is really good. I always use stock Mazda oil filters on my RX7 and the MSP.

Royal Purple

Royal Puprple is a great syn. oil , mostly used for drag and racing applications. I used it in my 93 Toyota Celica All-Trac, when I did some racing back east....and the oil lived up to its name sake.

But your best best is to use the Mobil 1. They where the first company to ever introduce synthetic oil, and therefore hold the original patent. Mobil 1 has also been known to keep your engine cleaner than most oils.

For more info on both oils:

www.royalpurple.com
www2.exxonmobil.com

For info on what filter is the best:

www.frankhunt.com/frank/corvette/articles/oilfilterstudy/oilfilterstudy.html

and the namebrands of filters that the mazda dealerships use:

Tennex(US) and TokyoRoki(Japanese).

I hope that this will give you some insight in your questions.;)
