CG-Lock - Anyone used it?

If you wanna keep your ass planted just wear cordory (spelling?) pants!! The interaction of the pants and alcantara will act like Velcro!
My dads SRT8 magnum has something similar to a CG LOCK in the front seats. It's nice on hard driving, but it's annoying for DD.

I think i'm going to order this so I can see what it's about. I can't imagine it being that bad for DD. Just buckle your seatbelt and tug.

Who's the vendor on NASIOC?

please do! Make sure you report with your findings and pics!

Who's the vendor on NASIOC?

A vendor on nasioc sells this. He'a a great/reputable seller (JnJ Associates - I have used him numerous times). Just throwing that out there if you feel nervous about using the place you found. His price was $42.95 shipped last time I checked.

It'll pop up in Google. If you can get more people, he may be able to knock the price down or do a GB in the future. Tell Bryan that Hank on nasioc sent you.

If you're going to use this thing every day, here are a couple of tips:

1. When clamping the piece down to the buckle, slide it up toward you on the buckle so that it isn't quite centered. This will keep some of the stress off of the belt (which over time if unchecked could begin to fray at the edge - this recommendation should make more sense to you once you're actually installing it).

2. Make sure when un-buckling that you don't let it swing about too much, as the big heavy metal piece will scratch the s*** out of your b-pillar if you let it bang against it.

Awesome, thanks for all the tips guys!!

I also got a response back from CG-Lock.com. If, for whatever reason it doesn't fit, I will have to return it back to the vendor, and CG-Lock will handle the returned equipment through them.

I take it from your guys advice though, that it does fit the MS3? That was my only main concern at first.

Also, if a GB option were available, how many people would be interested in buying? MSRP is $49.99 + shipping, the nasioc vendor sells for $42.99 shipped I believe, and the "so jdm.com" sells it for $36.99 + shipping.

I auto-xed for 14 years. When ever I ran someone else's car with out a 5 point harness then I would take the latch for the belt, position it a couple of inches away from the buckle and then spin it three times before connecting it.

Basically does the same thing for no money......

This works very, VERY well.

these old f@$*s are so damn smart, and cheep

I just reinstalled mine today. I dont use it for daily driving since I installed new dampers.
Im headed to Laguna Seca tomorrow for a little high speed fun, so I will need it then.

Oh one more tip (the others were good and true.):
If you have to go to the dealer for anything, remove the CG lock.
CG Lock installed looks like you might have been racing....... can you say "voided"

Wow really? I don't know..if they voided your warranty because you wanted to stay more secure in your seat while driving...that's serious bs.

Give them any reason to believe your abusing the car and they will try and void you. I'm sure youve seen the storys on this forum, guy gets voided for his cardomain page, or airbox looks cleaner than the rest of the engine so they know its been changed, extra wear on breaks/tires for miles.

I guess it boils down to the person. If you act shady at the dealer, and don't have a good relationship with them, they're not going to give a s***.

I'm not going to remove it..they can kiss my ass if they're going to try and void my warranty because of a damn seatbelt clip.

Just wanted to give an update to the thread:

I found a website that sold the CG-Lock at the cheapest price. $36.99 plus shipping. My contact, Jim at SoJDM.com has been extremely helpful with the process ordering and shipping. I originally contacted him for a group buy opportunity and i'm still going to present that idea to him if I know exactly how many people would be willing to order CG-Locks on a group buy level. I did a combined purchased of 2 and he waived the shipping charges for me.

Between shipping confirmations, tracking numbers and status updates on my shipment from both him and USPS, the experience has been a pleasure. Now, I should be received the product today or tomorrow through USPS. Not too shabby, shipped from LA to DET in 3 days through USPS. I'm impressed! I'll hope to give you guys an update soon on that. In the meantime:

Let's gauge interest first and if there's a significant demand just in this thread alone, we'll re-state it in a single thread. Problem is, i'm not a vendor, nor do I have vendor approval status, so I can't technically arrange something of a group buy unless I get vendor status, or have Jim at SoJDM come onto the forums and offer his own group buy to the guys.

Before we go that route, we have to atleast see who'd even bat an eye at a cg-lock group buy.
