Looks nice esp on a white car. how much does that cost? my hood is all messed up thanks to HWY rock chips. Perhaps not carbon fiber but if cheap enough, this could be an alternative to a full repaint.

Thank you! I bought it at amazon 5ft by 5ft $30. And it was easy to install. I think these is the cheapest way to get rid of Hiway paint chips.

I'm in the market for a vinyl wrap. I don't post pics anymore b/c the clear coat on the hood is pretty much gone. Entertaining ideas for what to do with Phantom Blue that doesn't involve matte black, since the car is far too hot already down here.

Very nice. I'm surprised but I really like that. Can't wait to see the rest done.

Could you also post a pic of how the wrap is “secured” under the hood along the edges? Is it just single side sticky tape-like (it gets hot under there and wondering if heat may remove the tackiness of the glue). Keep us updated on how durable the top coat is to the elements (rain/sun fade and scratches)?

Its a half inch overlap under the hood with its sticky backing with the help of a heat gun. I think its holding good. In terms of fading and scratches i cannot relate on that one i just had it for a month.

Wow, looks nice! I guess if you do the roof it'll just have to stick to the whole panel on its own? If a 5x5 sheet is that cheap maybe I can do the whole car. :D

I wrap cars for a living. We've done a lot of hoods.
For $30, you got a steal. Can I ask what the name was on the backing? I mainly deal with 3M 1080 or Avery film.
To keep it secured along the edges, it's best to apply something called Primer 94 which is an adhesive bonder to keep it held down. If you don't use it, it will lift. Though you are in a relatively mild environment that doesn't have extreme temperatures like my location in Canada.

It looks good :)

I'll post a few of my 2013 Mazda5 when I get it done.

Hi there. Any chance you have more pics? What is your opinion on the 3M 1080's durability to rock chips at HWY speed? Is it maintenance free?
I'm seeing some Amazon reviews saying it is more for decorative purposes. Do you know if there’s a product out there is a cross with 3M’s clear bra + a film that is NOT clear? I’m looking for something with color (hoot is pitted up badly) + protection on the cheap 

Any chance I can get a small sample/scraps from you? Gladly pay as needed.

Hello all... anybody with a white 5 has ever done the roof in glossy black?
Have you seen any photos? I keep looking and I have not been able to find any.

Thank you.
