So i was driving down 76 tonight and my car cut out like it wasn't getting fuel. I tried to start it and it smells like oil but won't start? It has 3/4 tank. Oil is like 1/2 qt low, engine wasn't over heated and coolent looked fine. Any suggestions?
It was the pump. Funny thing when i got the car it just so happened to come with an extra fuel pump. Getting the fuel lines off were a total pita!! This was the first pump I've ever done and when i pulled the pump out of the housing i ripped a wire out. Lucky it was just a ground wire and i spliced it into another. Started the car a few times. So far so good!
Just went out car fired up, put it in gear got.10 ft and died. Sounds like pump not coming on. I can't find a.wire harness for it anywhere . Don't know what to do. Is there a sending unit thatvcould be bad or is it the fuel pump?
There was a wiring diagram somewhere. If the new fuel pump is faulty the store should give you a new one. Maybe you have a short in a wire somewhere? Or a blown fuse?
