Car Jerking

i say try to replace the rear engine mount that will help with the car jerking i did cold air intake by injen and i didnt really help with fuel cut. \i think the pipes on the car could definatly cause hesitation

my car also jerks around but i think its mostly the bpv being so touchy its freakin anoying in traffic. I replaced the front and rear mounts with poly inserts. no wheel hop. Im going to try a experiment with 2 check valve's and boost control valve on the bpv to slow it down not stop it but slow it down on transition hopefully make it smoother opening and closeing.

My hard pipes are still backordered.. I'm going to change my plugs tomorrow. Any recommendations for stock boost? Platinum vs copper vs iridium?

d plugs awhile ago when this first started and to be honest it may have helped a little but nothing huge I went with the NKG iridium plugs. id like to changed my wires to
getting my winters tires off today and an oil change is over due.. haha

I just tested my wastegate and found out that the damn thing is leaking. So I ordered the ATP 6psi wastegate. Also, I got a flat tire last night on my home from work. The excitement never stops :)

oh man double suck but atleast your upgrading your wastegate... its always best when something breaks to get something better!

haha no i got my car back from the shop had to get my winters off but my buddy resealed that blown pipe and its running better than it has in the last 6 months with that pipe fully sealed. the front mount will probly be next weeks project

Wastegate just came in. I'm going to install it in a bit, unless my grandpa borrowes my toolbox again..

wait what turbodo u have I thought the msp had an internal wastegate? or are you taking about the actuater? or can u also replace it

Yeah, the actuator is what I'm replacing. It's harder to change this thing than I thought..Also, my manifold has a crack. FML (unamused)

edit: I cant remove the second bolt holding the actuator on because the clearance is way too tight. I can get a ratcheting wrench on there but it just hits the actuator rod so I can't turn it. Anyone know of any tricks to this? Also, it's started to rain... I guess I'll be driving the Impreza for a few days..

edit 2: Does anyone know if the OBX manifold works with the stock turbo?

I have a crack in manifold too , and its really loud for the first like 5 minutes then it must get hot enough and expand enough to close it. Im not sure what bolt your talking about but what about like a swivle wrench

It's one of the 2 bolts that holds the actuator onto the bracket. The one closest to the front of the car is really easy, but the other one has almost no room. A swivel wrench might do it, but I don't have one right now.

well if ya lived near by id gladly come and bring my tools but cali is a little far from pa

So because I couldn't get the other bolt off, I decided to just tighten everything back up and wait until I get my hands on this http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123718000 . I sold my Impreza today, so I have a few grand to spend on parts :). The thing is though, when I wasn't looking my grandpa tried to fix the cracks with some kind of jb weld-like substance and now my car is running like crap. Crappy Idle, loud whistling noise, and smoke everywhere. Now I get to borrow a car until I get the manifold, and who knows how long that could take. I still don't even know when my fracking hard pipes are coming in the mail. (sad2)

you better keep your grandpa away from your cars it sounds almost like that stuff wasnt for high heat...hopefully none of it got down inside your turbo. where did you get your hard pipes from?
I bought that front mount from metallic36 and it will be here tomorrow hopefully. but who knows when I will have time to do it all I still have to order the bov flange pipe and bov.
what kind of manifold are u looking at? ive only ever seen one for our cars on the sites and its like 700 everywhere i look

Luckily I was able to clean all the crap off and now my car runs exactly like before, which is acceptable. I haven't done the actuator yet, but the Manifold I am about to order is the Thunder manifold that I linked to above. $410 shipped, they don't make it till you order it :). I also canceled my order for the Street Unit hard pipes just now, because I found someone on here selling the pipes + intercooler with a Greddy flange (I already have a Greddy Type S bov) for $500 shipped. And when I get my taxes back I want to order the Injen CAI. Lots of fun stuff going on this car (evil).

edit: Some asshole swooped in and bought the smic kit when I already called dibs and was about to send the payment. Awesome.

2 bolts on w.g.a. 1 you get to from the top, the other 1 i got by getting under car. which is where you have to be to get that "e-clip" off of the actuator arm. That clip is relatively easy to pop off, but don't loose it and good luck putting it back on. They sell a e clip tool, worth the money
