Cannot decode vin number

Cx9
Hello everybody! I live in santo domingo, dominican republic and I am new here. Just recently bought a CX 9 for my wife and was wondering about more detail information on the model I just bought since many of the information I find online in terms of features seem to differ somehow. I am not even able to decode the vin number in sites I have googled about it.

Vin number is JM7TB19A9E0405098

Can anyone help me decode it?

My vin starts with JM3TB28A and then has nine numbers after it. In the last nine numbers, they are all numbers and no letters. I thought maybe your "E" in the middle might be a "3" and thought maybe your "7" should be a "3," I tried using all sorts of combinations, but I'm not able to decode anything.

Check your vin# on the dash and compare with your vin label on the driver side door jamb.

I wouldn't post a picture of it on here, but if you would like, you can send me a private message with a CLEAR picture of your vin sticker on the door jamb, and I can use my insurance databases on my work computer to try and sort it out.

Have you tried to create an owner profile on mymazda.com? That would verify for sure if the VIN is correct.

Here is the VIN decoding specific for CX9.

JM3TB28A*8#123456
JM3: (global maker) Mazda (multi-purpose vehicle)
TB: (model) Mazda CX9
2: (chassis) 2 for FWD, 3 AWD
8: (body) (wagon, multi-purpose vehicle)
A: (engine) 3.7L MZI Engine (A: Canadian, V: California)
*: (check digit) (to know a VIN is fake)
8: (model year) (8 for 2008)
#: (Plant) 0 for Horoshima, 1: Hofu
123456: serial number

Your VIN is wrong in so many areas.
I suspect someone took it from other Mazda or else.

The info I posted is in a CX9 WorkShop Manual.

It's weird, I know but is has to be valid. Dealer sells it as a 2014 model. I bought it 0 km. Guess I'll have to clarify things at the dealer. Bummer, they never know anything. :(

A disclaimer here:

The VIN rules I posted are for 2008 CX9. They may or may not be applicable to later models.

If you look at the following link I found.
All CX9 has VINs start with JM3.

http://parettimazda.com/inventory/new-inventory?Model=CX-9#InvTitleArea

JM7 is likely another automaker.
JM3 basically means, Japanese automaker #3, which is Mazda.

BTW, 2014 CX9 is not out in USA yet.
It should be end of 2013 (around Oct).
Something is strange here, if you ask me.

The problem is this is not a North American vehicle. For example a 2011 CX-9 in Australia has the VIN JMOTB10A4C0309863. I was able to find out the JM7 does belong to Mazda. All of the vin decoders that can be found on google.com are for North American VINs. If you run the vin I just gave in any of the vin decoders it will have a problem. However, if you go to http://www.irego.com.au/free-vin-decoder.php and put the JMO vin in in it will give you information. I looked for an email to Mazda Global but they just send you to your local distributor.

Was this your local distributor?

I personally think your VIN is genuine just that we don't have access to decode that VIN. Maybe someone else on here might be able to help. I learned a lot by reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VIN which shows the different standards for the VIN.

Do you have a window sticker for your CX-9? I don't even know if those are required in other parts of the world. Definitely would love to see a picture of your new CX-9 to see how it looks and what differences there are.

I think you are right, that must be it. And yes, the local distributor was Viamar.

The vin image I posted before was from the windshield.

I'll try and share some images of the car tomorrow. However, to me it looks exactly the same as the 2013GT in the mazda usa site. Just the radio is with no navigation button and mirrored ( vol in the right, tune in the left). By the way, you guys know how to add more languages to the audio system? It only have english UK.
