I just bought a used Mazda SP23 with just a little bit of rust on it today! The GPS system sucks. Is there a way I can replace it with something fast, maybe touchscreen? Can I upgrade the software?

I dont know if this is still something you are researching, I have the same question. I have the 05 sp23 without nav. I have seen these all over ebay and forums. The reviews all seem conveniently too good. They look buggy, and with android 4.2.2 already sadly out of date with no hope of updates. They also dont seem to work with the already present LCD screen in the car. Take a look and share your opinions on these units.
I have the second gen (g*5151 I think) WinCE version. It works well enough, and you can take your pick of GPS software. I have iGo on it now and it's not bad. I like the way it looks OEM. Some owners complained that it wasn't the silver color of th original, but since I've done the climate controls in carbon look, it looks good in my car.
I've considered getting the GA5151 - the Android version. I've seen a large thread on another "Mazda 3 forum" http://www.************.com/showthread.php?t=653698 about them. They had some issues with the CanBus adapter. There were software/firmware updates as well, along with a lot of referrals to more Android updates on the XdA site. I like the looks of this as the software seems upgradeable unlike the WinCE models.
