Calling CP-E DP owners...

Anyone thinking about the CP-E catted downpipe but choking on the cost like I am? I just learned that another manufacturer with better prices (I have no experience with their products so I can't say about quality) is going to be releasing one end of next month. They aren't paying sponsors here so I don't think I am supposed to "advertise" them by saying the name. They seem to be either liked or despised here, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes over.

Its worth it I would have to say. But then again I wouldn't just buy a DP. I ended up getting the whole system. The quality is excellent.

I got the catted DP from CP-E...

I was going to wait for BEGi to design theirs, but after speaking with Stephanie, they will start prototyping sometime in February/March time frame (if all goes well) and then who knows how long till a final released version is out for sale. BEGi is very slow releasing products; not necessarily a bad thing, but I did not want to wait till the end of the year to finally buy a DP.

I just got the DP... I'm going to get the CBE (CorkSport) next...
I should have gotten everything at one time, but its no biggie. Everything matched up fine, it just looks weird underneath the car. You have this beautiful polished stainless 3" pipe going into a 2.4" factory rusty colored pipe... (lol2)

It's not BEGI. I was told specifically that it is due to be released end of next month in response to an e-mail inquiry I sent asking if they have any intentions of releasing one. Very quick response to my inquiry, by the way, which I like to see.

OK, you're killing me here!!!!
Who is it? Clues? What are the specs on this new DP?

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a tease. Going by the company's name, I would hope that their stuff would work really well bolted to a turbo. Excessively well, one might say.
I have no idea on specs. I just saw that their prices are much lower for a straight downpipe than other companies are charging for the same product, so it seems reasonable that the same should be true for a catted downpipe.
I wrote and asked if they were going to come out with one and got a quick response that one is due out end of next month. I for one am saving my pennies, because from what I have seen on the various dyno tests, this is the first mod that should be done. Pain in the butt install, but the gains speak for themselves. The factory downpipe has got to go!

Give us the name, man, lol.

I'm just wondering as last week I saw something about another company coming out with a downpipe, but I just can't remember who it is. I'm waiting to see what BEGi and Cobb release to make my final choice, but I saw this other place and was like...they might have something interesting too.

I thought I was being pretty clear as to who it is, but if you still aren't sure, read the second line really fast.

(lol)(cryhard)TurboXS!!!! (lol2)

Damn, I just got mine in the end of December... Though I am very happy with my CP-E...

I'm sure I would be happy with one too. I want a catted downpipe, and the CP-E is just a budget breaker for me. If I get a less expensive downpipe I'll have money left for controlling the boost level on my car. Damn it, I want too many toys and can't afford them all. All the cool stuff coming out now that there are more cars using this engine is making my head spin.

Doh, lol. I thought of TurboXS, but I forgot their's isn't catted. I do like their prices, but I would prefer a one piece. But if it turns out ok, then I may go with them.

I just got a DashHawk last Friday and with this DP, I am boost spiking!!!!
My boost level is stock...but I spike 18-19, occasionally 20, then settles down to 15.6-16.

i spike that much with stock dp my highest spike is between 19.5 and 20.5 when i do 5th gear pull...the rest stay under 19

Then you won't like Cobb they use a cast flange setup just like TurboXS. Atleast on Subaru cars they do. We might possibly have something to market. We were approached by a reputable Subaru Company we do a lot of business with and they are interested in making TBE's for Speed3's and even possibly MSP's.

I had a question about the cars that are smoking, Is the white smoke coming from the tail pipe?? or where the turbo meets the down pipe??

Its smoke coming out of the tailpipe...thick blueish-white smoke.
If you get smoke out of your turbo/DP interface, you've got major issues!!
