Sounds ok...and I could just pick one up tommorow on my lunch break...but still, I just can't get myself to crank out that much, even with the high flow cat.
Has CP-e done the O2 sims to cover for a catless set up yet?
(sad1)Seems like I won't be getting it (CP-E catted DP) by Friday...no word from PG as of yet.(sad2)
Tell me about it... I thought about it 100 times before making the call. It hurt, hurt really bad...
Pick one up during your lunch break? I thought CP-E was located in Maryland...?
I would think checking your oil often would show your losing oil somewhere as well.
I don't think that would be an indication since its only a few drops of oil that is seeping though the seal. Its not like its gushing out unless you are currently smoking with the factory exhaust.
But the indication of a leaking turbo seal will not be seen in the oil level since like I said its just a few drops and it only occurs at idle...
December 26th...day after Christmas...still no CP-E DP.(argh)It's been over 3 weeks since I ordered it. Seems like CP-E dropped the ball on PG... I don't think I'll get it before my Christmas vacation is up now...(sad1) (sad2)
I ordered my CPE DP and catback in early november thru a different online retailer and didn't receive all of my parts until about a month later. I'm under the impression based on many other's experiences that their products are top notch, but they must be busy as hell lately.
After reading through numerous threads and posts, it appears that this is the deal with the smoke.
1) Mazda's supplier had a run of turbos with weak seals. They know it, and Mazda knows it.
2) Apparently the leak is not bad enough to be noticeable unless you open up the exhaust so that the two cats in the downpipe aren't there to clean up the exhaust smoke.
3) Nobody has yet figured out how to tell if you have the bad seal based on production date, part number or whatever. The only way to tell is by the smoke.
In summary, you either have a turbo with a bad seal or you don't.
The exhaust modification is not a cause, it simply makes the effect more noticeable.
There should be a TSB for weak sealed turbos then. That would clear up this whole issue.
TSB...? (huh)
