i kinda want to rebadge the car with the mx-5 mazda speed badging.. yay or nay?

Give it the "speed" before you give it a false badge. That would be like owning a Honda and slapping on a type r badge.

IMHO buying parts for the car that do nothing for its performance or looks in a positive way.....is wasted money. You just got the car right? Take it out and have fun with it as is and plan out what you want to do. A good end project takes time, and a ton of research.

Come join us at www.modifiedmiata.net/vbforum and well be there to help. (thumb)

Couldn't have said it better myself. I bought my MX5 in April of last year, and I just this month put new rims and tires on it. and after tons of phone calls and internet research, just ordered all my engine mods to be put on as soon as they get here from FM.

The car is fun stock, I can't wait to see how much more fun it is modded. Take your time, the mods are not going anywhere. Think about what you want the car to do/become, then go from there as your bank account allows. Happy modding.

Congrats!! I'm still searching, and hopefully will get one fairly soon...I'm thinking by summer possibly??

29k miles, $16200 out the door.

It basically seems like the Proteg community is divided strongly between two personality types.... traitors who go to WRX/Evos and winners who buy Miatas. :D

ive been in a wrx.. sti.. havent been IN an evo yet.. the miata is the best feeling car ive been in ever.

I've driven several 4WD cars from a first gen WRX to a Cayenne Turbo (which believe me I ragged the s*** out of). Something about the on-road feel/challenge/fun of RWD (and possibly even wrong-wheel drive, AKA front-wheel drive) I prefer.

I can't seem to find any information on upgrading the stock sounds.. dash kit, speaker sizes, etc.

Nice Miatas (rockon)

I saw an older miata (flip up headlights) at school today... Red, with a black lip, hardtop, slammed, and black rims, 5 spoke, with a huge polished lip (looked like work meisters). Makes me want to get a miata :(

not refering to the Bose. I mean the wind swirling around you is awesomness :)

$144 on oil..

god damn Royal Purple is expensive...

4 qts Royal Purple 5W30 @$8.xx each
4 qts 75w90 gear oil
1 qt synchromax oil
oil filter
oil drain plug gaskets

that is a lot of oil. the tranny is just shy of 2 qts anf the diff is just shy of 1. most oil drain pans can hold all the fluid from engine tranny and diff in one shot. so you can just slide it around underneath the car. and depending on the miata. some people with larger hands have trouble with the oil filter. i personally found it easier to remove the filter from the top. it took me about 1 hour for complete fluid change and spark plugs, fuel, and air filter. i had ti use 2x4's under the tires to get the car high enough to drain the fluid out with thcar level and not crush the pan i was using. dunno how the hell i am gonna do that when i get the car lowered....good luck and have fun

You guys are making me feel bad. With all of these shiny Miatas, mine looks like a slut on crack after this season of auto-x. I can't wait til spring to do a full detail. :(

Yuh Kevin, my friend said he saw your Crystal White off Ponce last weekend whoring it up big time! :D I think she'd just gotten off dancing at the Clermont Lounge.
