calling all miatas -->

Just wondering, how tall are all of you Miata owners? I'm 6'2" and possibly still growing. I'm eyeing out a pretty smooth NA Miata, but i'm just not sure if i'll be able to keep comfortable in one. I'm checking it out this weekend, and i'll probably be able to make a decision than. But yeah, just wondering what's the average height of miata owners.

Now I just need to get a Miata...still looking, and trying to conserve funds...

edit: I'm not that tall (5'8") so I don't have a problem fitting in a Miata. I also know a local guy who's 6' who has a Miata and haven't heard any complaints from him, so...not sure of any taller.

Not exactly. The stock Miata radiator and used water pump barely kept it cool for the auto-x. Both have been upgraded significantly. Wheels, tires, brakes and battery have all be upgraded in the last 2 years.

It's easily a $5,000 car as it sits. :)

wait a minute. that was a Challenge car? I remember seeing it a couple years ago at Carlisle. but didn't know it was a Challenge car. How did you build that for less than $200x? you must be a hell-of-a deal maker..

Teamwork, four individuals helped build the car in 8 months, and a lot of swap meets. The car was purchased for $2600 and parted out down to $0. The current rules have changed since this car was built.

More info here if you're interested.

yeah, i've been to your site before. team work is an awesome thing. I think the part that I got mixed up on is the rule about work done at a "for-profit shop" must be billed... I guess the sweat off of your and your buddy's back is free labor?..

Well, I don't daily drive the Miata. It'd drive me nuts (no A/C, loud, harsh ride, etc). It's a lot more snug of a fit than the Protege.

I heard Kristin's head sticks out over the windshield..

ahhahha. yea im almost 6' 2" like 6' 1" and a half or something and i have no complaints driving my NA every day

Poor Miater :( . Tho if given to me, I'm sure I could find something that still works :D.

I've had my 90 NA6 for a couple of months now. It's currently a work in progress. I never seem to have the time to do anything............always working!(eekdance) (whip)

As far as height issuses go....I have none. I'm 6ft. and my Miata is my daily driver.

Hi everyone. Just joined since you seem to need more Miata & MX-5 members. I own the following Miatas (yes, plural):

1990 "M1" Miata (Original owner since August '89)
- Crystal White
- Package B
- OE Hardtop
- Leather interior (seats & door panels)
- Pioneer stereo w/sep. amp driving headrest speakers & iPod interface
- 14" Special Edition (aftermarket) wheels w/Dunlop D60A2 tires

2006 "M3" MX-5 Grand Touring 6SP (Delivered 1/6/06)
- True Red
- Premium Package 2
- Suspension Package

These two Miata/MX-5s (I can't figure out what to call the new one) are part of a long line of Mazda ownership. I have also owned: '74 Rx-4 wagon, '84 Rx-7 GSL-SE, '87 B2000 pickup, '91 Protege LX, '91 MPV.

More later.

Yep. In fact, I'm the founding Miata member (Sep '89). I'm over here since our forum seems to be belly-up for some reason at the moment.
