C-U Tuner Bash 2005 [Car show]

OK, folks here it is.

When: September 2, 2005 8:00pm-12:00am (Subjec to change, awaiting on Sundowners Car club board approval)
Where: Hooters off Neil Street in Champaign IL
Registration will be $10.00 pre-registration will be $8.00

The following awards will be given (This is a working list and things may been added or subtracted in the next couple of weeks. )

[=] Largest Rims updated now it's [=] Best Euro
[=] Largest Crew
[=] Hooters Girls Pick

There will be show bunnies walking around taking pictures with the cars, and damn these are some nice looking bunnies This show is being held in conjuction with the Sundowerns car cruise, same location. So if you also like Hotrods we normally get about 50-75 hotrods alone.

I am in the process of gathering sponsors so if any of you know people that are willing to sponsor the event please let me know.

I am hoping we can get 50-75 cars. I know we have atleast 25-45 C-U cars alone. I this is far out enough notice I can get several of the members from Chi-town to come down for the show. I have crash space at my place if needed, so no worries there. If you are willing to come and are serious please post your name up here, I would like to get a feel for what kind of numbers I can expect.

Sounds cool... but.... largest rims??? It just sounds like a funny award. I would love to see some ugly beater roll in on some 22's.

I will tell my buddy with a show car, he is from Akron area but would prob make the drive out.

Sweet thanks for passing the word. I wanted a class that would bring in some of the other imports like BMW and Lexus, and those guys don't really fall into anything else, other then they normally have a nice set of 22+ At least that is the case here in C-U. I am willing to change the class name if people have a better suggestion

Just curious, why a Friday night as opposed to daytime on a Sat. or Sun.. More hours available for the show, which vendors/sponsors would appreciate. Coming for the Chicago area, I would have to leave in the heart of a Friday night rush hour which sux. I would probably go if not for that. The Hooters around the area here, are having a show at a different one almost every Sunday. The one in Aurora had a nice turn-out, mostly rods and classics though.

Yup Yup...Just before Labor Day Weekend, so come down and have fun...

Why the time, because I wanted to host a night-time show. They are always more exciting then daytime shows and more people can make night-time shows. The normal Sundowners Cruise runs from about 6:30-9:30 and then all the old farts go home and go to bed

I just talked to a local Car Audio shop and they are willing to run a DB Drag event the night of the show, so we should get a pretty good turn out for that.

how do u guys find out about these upcoming shows? are there any sooner than sept. and in this area? i know there was one last week up in arlington heights. my car was too dirty to put in though.
and i need to do something for body work also, to get it noticed.
