can a 88 bpt engine be swaped into a 3rd gen fs... i know the mounts would have to be reworked, as well as the wireing harness/ecu, but what other significant modifications would be necisary to do this as well as how much money would be spent(estimated)..because i know a guy selling a rebuilt 88 GTX (BPT) motor with 47k for $300(naughty) .. and i would love to do a swap...thanx

Use the search button. Anything is possible with enough time and money. You're going to need the motor mounts, transmission, wiring harness and ECU, and make sure everything fits and works. In all honesty, it'll probably be more work than its actually worth. Just get a beater 1st Gen. and put it in there. That way you'll have something you know it will fit in and won't have to worry about downtime while getting allt he bugs to work out.

Damn, from GA to NJ for a $500 car?? I used to live in NJ and it's 9-10 hours from where I am in NC to right around Hightstown (Allentown actually). Were there no decent 1st gens in the state of Georgia at all??

93 ES? I hope that's not what the advertisment said cuz 1st gens only came as DX= 1.8 SOHC ~106hp
LX= 1.8 DOHC ~128hp
Oh and just to clear up about the motors,
B6T = Late 80's 323 GTX & 323 GT Sedan = 1.6 DOHC TURBO 130hp
GTX = 90-94 323 and Protege Overseas = 1.8 DOHC TURBO 185hp
GTR = 92-94 323 Overseas = 1.8 DOHC TURBO 210hp *RARE*
LX= 1.8 DOHC ~128hp
