If for some reason I have to take it out, I will take some measurements for you. But I still would highly reccomend reading the fiberglass how to... You get more bang for your buck. I just felt more comfortable with the wood.

Basically the front board is 3/4" MDF the box sits up high enough to fit back in the hole where the jack goes. The sides taper out towards the front plate. The top tapers down to match the profile of the panel. The front steps out to gain just a little more air space. Also due to how small each of the panels were I used 1/2 MDF to help air space as well. Also ALOT of liquid nails..

Again you get much more air space for just as solid of an enclosure with fiberglass. So make sure you match your sub to your available air space.

I think you have the same sub I do. Hmmm... You've indicated that you would not be willing - at this point at least - to make boxes for others. I for one would be VERY interested, either in a pre-built box (please? :) ) or the pattern/template to this box. I love my sub, but I don't like how it takes up so much of my hatch.

By sounds of things, you didn't have to do/remove anything with the interior or panels inside the hatch, correct? Did you actually take out the jack and removable panel or is it still there behind the sub? Is the box just pushed into the corner then, or have you anchored it in some way?

Sorry for all the q's - but this is very appealing. I want one! :D +rep for you! (first)

Nice job! Is this 8" sub? I did mine with fiberglass and the max size sub I was able to fit in was 10" also JL - they do sound good. I attached mine with the bolt form the jack.

MyZmZm - Thanks for the kind words. As far as making one for someone I would help someone build it, if they were close to my house. I am afraid someone would not be happy with the quality. It functions perfectly, but there are gaps etc that I sealed with Liquid Nails. Also I have about 40hrs in this plus materials. I figure materials at about 20$ then I figure I can make one in about 20-25hrs now. Figure my time at least at $10/hr that box is now 220-270$... not really worth it for anyone. You could pay a shop to build one for that... and get a pro to do it.

I removed the panel cover and jack (put the jack and handle with the spare tire). The box is attached with 4 screws but I was going to use the jack bolt just decided not to. I ran the screws into the bottom of the panel (can't tell with them removed the holes are tiny).

Maxek - Sub is a 10" JLAudio 10W6. Yeah I am really happy with it.

Again thanks for the kind words I am really happy with the way it turned out.
