Bought my2003.5 MazdaSpeed Today

I couldnt resist, I have been looking at a titanium(gray silver?) Mazda Protege for the last few days. I took it for a test drive and that was it. I bought it on the spot ($13,999). It currrently has 28,107 miles on it and the only thing i can tell (right now) that is wrong with it is the clunk in the trunk. I will take care of that Monday It is fun to drive! I spent the last few hours driving it all over the place. Also it Looks like the last owner removed the Kenwood Stero and put in an Alpine. Which I think is a better choice.

It's my first 4 Banger and I am not unhappy with it. I belive it is #1115 and will put it on the registry. I think I am gonna leave it stock for a while. I am old and do not need that fancy speed..lol

Best thing was when i calld my insurance company they only asked if it was a LX or ES. I was like mmm LX..lol

is their a sunroof also? looks somewhat like their is one.............anyway as previously stated they thres some 2002 es rims on their and it looks like a es spoiler

Welcome to the MSP family. The wheels look strange on it. I would attempt to have the dealer get you the authentic wheels and spoiler.

SOB- THe rims are different and so is the Spoiler. Why the hell would someone change that?

I could see the rims being ripped off or stolen but the rear deck?

Hell maybe it is a ES..lol

Did they make any ES's with a Mazda speed package?

Maybe someone wanted the Granny Look? Hell who knows?

The date of Manufacture was I belive 10/03 so maybe they ran out of spoilers! LMAO

LOL wow, thank goodness I thought i really got humped. I kind of like it anyway. But I will keep my eye open for wheels and a spoiler to get it back to normal.

From that pic, it could be an ES with MSP side skirts and front.

Edit: But more likely is that the Racing Harts were curbed pretty badly and the ES wheels were subbed. Also, the front grill is not stock (no flying "M" logo)

Yes iT has a Turbo

It has the MazdaSpeed plates on the inside door panel floor, and the speedometer has the MAzdaspeed logo. So does the Engine.

I'll take a bunch of pics so you all can tell me whats what.

welcome to the forums. it really sounds like you should have posted it up on here prior to purchasing it. looks like they kind of got you. 14k isn't that bad of a price but with regular protege rims...........no way. i wouldn't take it. those racing hearts run i think $250-300 per rim at the dealer plus tires makes them a pretty penny. id go back and talk to the dealer............

I am sure is an MSP but why change the rims and spoiler?

The rims are are about 470 each if bought from protegegarage and about 700 at the dealership.

I dont have a spoiler and I have those same rims on for winter hehe . Its like my twin, except I have the RH chillin in the basement

BTW I like it and want to see better pics of the ES spoiler please. Good color choice too

I agree...you should have posted with clear pictures when you were considering buying it. The Stock RH wheels are sweet...I want to get a spare set in case I damage the ones I have, before you can't get them anymore. I actually curbed one of them at a meet... (boom07) not bad, but still I wasn't a happy camper.
I want more pics too!!
