Bolting down a sub box.

Thanks Brian, that sounds like the best idea, I really dont want to have to drill holes in anything at all. Appreciate the help.

yea props to the velcro, mine doesnt move one bit. The p5 tray covers up my sub and amp. the stock hu with a loc is also a deterant. Go to home depot and go to the screws isle. They have it 4 feet for 8 bux. get that and cut and stick around bottom of sub box. Then place either the other side of velcro down if you got plastic or just straight on the carpet spare tire cover.

Works like a charm. no ugly bungees or brackets. I have it pretty stock looking system so thiefs should stay away.

same diffrence? not even close

my insurance pays for it eaither way, at least this way a theif has wasted his time and is walking away empty handed, and the more time he spends trying to get it out the more chances he has of being caught. i'd rather have a theif walkaway empty handed every time.

if u don't want to make it hard for him might as well leave your doors unlocked and a big steal me sign on it.

as far as how practical it is. for the most part i design every box i make to keep the spare tire intact wether it be mdf or fiberglass, once the box is in i never take it out. so for me it is very practical to protect what i own.

servo, as long as the bottom is flat dont see how it wouldn't be quite simple to just pop a hole in the bottom of each one and bolt each one down in the corner.

hope nobody has to go thru an accident and get injured by a sub box busting up thru their trunk area. its happened before.

I hear ya man, it's great and all, just a little "Not Required" in Canada. We don't go around ******* each other over here. The last time a guy was gunned down by a pistol in Ontario, It was a Guy from Detroit that was pulling the trigger!!
(canada) (gun)

, my speakers and box are heavy, i pulled the ebrake up from 40mph and power slid, went to see if it moved and it was right where i left it.. so get heavy speakers and box and dont worry about a thing..

if your power sliding the car is still moving so its not the same, go run out and hit a wall and see if it stays in the same place lol

wow canada doesnt have any theives or shootings, sounds like utopia.

I use the bungee cord and the cargonet hooks, they work like a charm.

Hey Jac, do you have pics of that? Aren't the cargonet hooks too weak to hold a sub? Which way do you have the sub facing? Does it end up being pushed against the rear of the trunk (towards the lid)?

BTW, I went to Home Depot and bought a pack of their big-ass "exterior mounting" velcro. The hooks on those are way bigger than their standard "industrial strength velcro'. Since my box has no carpeting, I stuck 5 of the hook parts to the bottom, put it in the trunk, and, BAM, it stays where I left it.
