Blueprotegelx Turbo Build

From what I understand there is no determined length the bov must be from maf as long as it is positioned between maf and ic.

I plan on trimming intake a little shorter and adjusting the ic some more. At this point the piping within the ic couplers are practically touching in the top half.

werd. nice to see you got your FMIC to sit behind the stock bumper. i had to hack mine all up. now people see it like a sore thumb and refuse to race

Lol that is very believable. I get second to fourth looks from people now with my fmic in. it's a thumbs up occassionaly lol. Got one from an STI yesterday once expressway and guy in a badass srt4 other at gas station. Respect is nice too, I guess! Makes u feel like you've achieved something with ur Protege finally ha.

When looking at others pics I use to always think the fmic and piping would be easiest. But once getting everything it was honestly just a pita! I wish I had msp bumper but not many have the sedan bumper with a fmic. Plus I think the fmic fills that space in the bumper so nicely!

Just an update: Water pump went out on me which explains the temp going up earlier. I replaced pump and belt. I think timing might be just a tad off and I need to tighten serpentine belt just a tad. Did a compression test again b/c i've ben worried about head gasket. It was 180 on cyl 1,2, & 4 and #3 was 190 all three times

lol...how mechanically inclined are you?

it took me a whole day b/c i did not have my tools with me b/c I was at my g/f's and not my parents. Plus where she lives is 20+ min away from everything, my parents 1 min, I ran into a stripped bolt on the water pump. Odd b/c that means Mazda would have done it, b/c i've had the car since 30k miles and it wasn't replaced then.

I had a very difficult time getting everything lined up perfectly. I think it might be a half a tooth off. I had the belt off 5+ times.

Edit: I drove the car afterwards and it runs great and water temp didn't budge.

Just washed the Protege today...After washing car I got on it a little later and a CEL came on in between 1st and 2nd shift. Thinking might have been fuel cut, i'm going to try and reset ecu a little later and see if that works.

i'd scan the code to see what it is before deleting it. Not sure why you'd be hitting cut.

Already on it! As soon as it came on, I wanted to know what it was so I'm going to hit up some stores to get some prices and get one probably tonight or tomo.

When the water pump went out. I went to autozone to find a jack b/c my scissor jack broke, i ended up getting a hydraulic jack, set of impact sockets (needed them for the impact i rented to get crank bolt off), spray paint, epoxy, and a stud/bolt kit.

The VC came out horrible in the beginning b/c at Hannah's house is in the woods, so after about the 2-3rd coat bugs started sticking to it. lol. i put a couple more coats on it, then i think the humidity started affecting the paint. But after I got it on the car and drove it around, i think the heat from the engine helped it out alot. looks better now!
