Blue Tooth audio input?

I just had the pleasure of renting a 2010 mazda 3, while having new breaks put on my 2008 CX9, only to find that the "3" has a bluetooth audio in function. This allowed me to pair my phone and play tunes through the Aux connection via my Iphone with no cables attached. Is this something new for 2010? I don't see this as an option on my CX9 at all, or am I blind, deaf, and dumb? :) And has anyone had any luck with the aftermarket blue tooth receivers that do the same kind of thing?

thanks

P.

It's called Bluetooth A2DP for stereo music. Not available on 2007-8 CX9s.
Not sure about 2009. Definitely on some 2010.

2009 has it. I've used it with my wife's phone, which is a Sony w580i. Seems to work pretty well.

We have a 2010 CX9, I tried my iPhone running via A2DP/Bluetooth streaming and the Aux port. The Aux port sounded a LOT better than the Bluetooth, but I went ahead and had the iPod integration cable installed. That blows the doors off the other two options for my ears. A nice bonus was that the iPod integration seemed to enable Centerpoint functionality for my iPhone music. It wasn't functional (grayed out) via either Bluetooth or Aux input jacks.

That's because the iPod cable uses the digital output, using the better head unit DAC to decode it to analog. The iPod DAC is only suited for headphones.

Has anyone here used a BlueTooth Receiver plugged into the Aux Jack in the CX9?

Yes. I have the https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) (I have the more generic version, since I have a Palm Pre) and it works well. The dang steering wheel remote is nice, but gets in the way when parking.

Do you have the Sport? I am looking to trade my 07 for an 2010 (possibly) and I want to know if the Sport has A2DP.

BT Audio does not work too well with the Samsung Trance, the front top dashtop speakers have big distortion sound.
