Hey has any one thrown a rode in there speed , I have.. If so is is it cause turn the fcd to much or is it just a random had to be me bad motor....

yea i blown it last year, i wac gittin on a little runnin 11 psi boost, cummin up in 4th gear and just oil and chucks of metal every wear and the next day when i went to take all the stuff off of it so it would look pretty for the dealership, the block was completely shreded.

its called a blown motor and yes, many many people have gone zoom zoom boom. fuel cut is there for a reason. an fcd is just one step closer to the brink of zoom zoom boom. a guy in houston has blown his 3 times i think. so yeah, its common. but welcome to the forums!

many of us have blown our motors.... mine was one of the "random had to be me" ones though because i was stock with the exception of a cold air intake. our motors are garbage.

English is your friend....I blew mine as well...I think I was the first...3800 and stock for me.

Nothing wrong with the fcd as long as you don't drive stupidly and keep it at 10psi or below. People just need learn how to drive.

I have an FCD but after I get the DSM convert, it is my understadning I can scrap it. Is that true?

As for the FCD, you have to be responsible with it. I set the MBC at ~9 psi with a 10 spike. I NEVER boost it that high in 4th or 5th except for MAYBE 2 - 3 seconds and that is quite rare. As a matter of fact I usually start letting off the boost in third gear.

mine went at 24000 miles.It ran really strong at 14 psi but the stock pistons did not like that.

19000 miles @10 psi = swiss cheese block, for me anyway. You definately need supporting mods to turn up the boost. in my opinion, the FCD is not one of them.

FMIC, MPI ems, 3" exhaust, I would start with these next time.

(with almost supporting mods)I ran 10-14 PSI for around 30K miles boosting all the time,and abusing the s*** out of the car,never broke a LSD,or blew a engine in it.

u leaned it out with the FCD. did u hear any sounds like a tin can full of rocks? that was detonation. FCDs and voltage clamps are OK sometimes, but not recommended. i think the 2003`s have had more problems than the 2003.5`s also. the bugs got worked out i guess...

What exactly does detonation sound like? I've heard a slight "pinging" sound (it's pretty quiet; I can only hear it when the windows are up) after I installed my AWR front motor mount and my kartboy bushings, and I don't know if that's my engine, my new mount not tight enough, my heat-shield rattling, or one of my vacuum hoses leaking. I have no other mods besides those ^.

Its about whp/tq numbers. But try to run 250whp all day, and its only a matter of time or luck.
