My BP isn't all that much different than any other BP, just higher compression pistons and a better-flowing head.
I wouldn't blame the BP itself though, my car was a leased business car before I bought it so I doubt it was treated very well if the oil had even been changed at all. So I didn't pay close enough attention to the oil and it burned enough to run itself low on oil. Any motor will **** up without sufficient lubrication. So check your oils more often than you are kids.
I was just unlucky enough and unwise to purchase such a car. And it's not like the car showed any weirdness during the pre-sale inspection and multiple drives...
Edit: I'm more than happy with my new motor and it doesn't burn a drop of oil between changes.
