blown engine

as a Mazda Owner all i have to say, Mazda SUCKS @ss, these is really far away from being a good Japanese car, look at Honda's, Toyota's, Mitsubishi's. Mazda is a real disappointment in every aspect, their cars are build with crap quality materials, poor engineering, and their dealers are the worst...

This entire post is laughable. What is the basis for the poor material quality? You can't have everything in a $23k car. They are obviously engineered with a strict attention to cost savings and they do a great job at hitting the price targets and still acheiving a good build quality and aesthetic appeal. Poor design and engineering? 10 best engines 2 years in a row and you're going to claim poor design and engineering? One MS3 throws a rod and people are ready to jump ship? Come on, even if they acheive 99.9% quality out of say 10,000 MS3 engines 10 bad apples would be produced. Obviously the actual production volume is much higher due to global volume and the fact that this engine is shared across MS6 and CX7 product lines, but the point remains the same. No manufacturing process is perfect and has been said a million times before you will hear a whole lot about the 10 bad apples but the other 9,990 people don't come on here and post every day about how when they turned the key this morning everything went great. Also, Mitsubishi ranks at or near the bottom of quality surveys every year. I'll take my Mazda any day.

I agree, good point. Just because they don't use forged internals rated at 600hp doesn't mean they're a bad company in the least. I got screwed over with my warranty, but once the engine blows up or if it even does then I'm getting a lawyer and having them prove my turboback or intake was the reason for detonation. As for the DISI engine being rated the top 10 engine in the world, that has to account for something, right? There's even rotaries with over 200k miles on it running pristine, it's all based on how you take care of your car and drive it.

ill have to agree you yall. you tell me one company that is flawless, i bet you cant name one. every company has had an issue with atleast one of there cars. my engine was the one that blew and im not bailing out. i love that car. hell i miss it right now lol. and the reason it did blow was because of detonation i went up there today to find out. mine was one of the ones with the fuel pump problem. mazda are good cars. there is a guy at my work that has a 626 with 215,000 miles and he says it runs perfect.

It's already been announced awhile ago that the rods and pistons aren't forged, I don't know where you're getting your sources from. Mazda advertised the DISI engine as having forged interals in error.

"announced" by whom? the only people I've heard claiming this are saying it because they are comparing them to aftermarket forged rods and claiming that because they don't look similar, they aren't factory forged.

The only thing I have ever seen that was even remotely official is this, and it says that the engine does have a forged crankshaft and connecting rods.

detonation...that's exactly what I figured. Good luck getting it replaced...I hope your dealership isn't run by a bunch of dicks!

I don't understand why they wouldn't warranty it?

My build date is 12/06 and my vin fell into the TSB. I have an appoinment in the morning so we shall see how it goes.

If the motor would have blown I would not have been discourage and want to get rid of the car, I love this car i spent along time trying to decide on what car to buy last year. I paid 23,500 out the door last year for my GT. What else can you get out there for the same price? HID's w/ leveling, leather, Bose, and great performing car.

from what i understand they are trying to say i didnt change the oil cuz i didnt take it to them to change it.

Amazing to see the lack of any understanding of statistics based on some comments....

Cant wait till someone posts how the reason for his engine blowing was the motor mount... and I love how some are already assuming Mazda wont cover it under warranty (Why wouldnt they? its friggin stock? You can be pissed all you want about some with modds getting voided but please stop assuming Mazda is voiding everyones warranty based on a few cases)

Some of you read 1 post about XYZ thing going wrong and assume ALL cars will have XYZ thing go wrong... amazing....

+10,000

I'm convinced some people are just hardwired to see the glass half empty.

some of the statements that are in this thread make me want to stop being a part of these forums. i hope that all this puke that people are spewing from there mouth..errr...keyboards is not taken to seriously. I will say my favorite so far has been , "im not getting the MS CAI cuz i dont want hydrolock" what a misinformed statement.

well i just got off the phone with the service manager and its all going to warratied. after getting the run around for couple of days. but im just happy i dont have to pay lol. and I CANT WAIT TO GET MY CAR BACK!!! lol.(yippy)
