Black emblems installed - pics

thanks tunersteve. always a big help.

Glad I can be of assistance. One last thing, there's no adhesive on the front M. It's just held by clips. Take a flat screwdriver and gently press the tabs while pushing it out of the grille, then use one hand to pull the emblem away from the grille. Once you pop about half the clips out, it should just slide right off.

question on removing rear badge

Im planning on removing my rear ms6 and painting my rear M those two plastic nuts on the inside of the M are they lost once you take it off? I mean do you put it back on only with adhesive?

I've got the old plastic ones sitting on my desk, You can reuse them without issue.

Got any pics of the color matched ones?

I don't really have a good one of the back end, but there ya go.

I took mine off, sand it down a bit to give the paint something to hold on too. Just paint it semi gloss black.

Did the same...just added a clear high gloss enamel on top of it to make it last longer hopefully.

Before I chose to paint them, I actually covered them both with black vinyl. I didn't like the glossy look so I took the vinyl off.

nice. By the way, I like that photoshoot of your car, it looks great. Great car, and photography! :D

i used texture black on my emblems and threw them on my 05 m6. they look pretty mean..much better than the glossy and easier to do if you paint them yourself.

silly question: the grille on the 6i has the flying M surrounded by the black plastic and the honeycomb grille behind it; mine is fading badly, is there any specific paint I should get that will resist fading/peeling?

I'd replace it with a black or CF aftermarket grille, but there doesn't seem to be any made for an '07...or at least I can't seem to find one.

Not sure what is fading...the flying M or the surround.....if you are talking about the M, I primed and used wheel paint on mine. Welcome to the boards!

Thanks for the welcome! :)

It's the area surrounding the M and just behind it on the grille. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this though, haven't seen anything on the boards after checking about for a bit. My camera's not working properly at the moment, but I'll try to hobble out there (had foot surgery again this morning) and get a shot off to throw it up here as soon as I can so you can see it.

Wheel paint...not a bad idea though. :D
