Billet Aluminum Shift Knobs

the counterweighted greddy is 13.5oz I beleive and it is billet alluminum also. I think they run around $40, at least where I have seen

I'll have to talk to the shop and see what they can do. I want to get in the neighborhood of that greddy price. But don't know how close I can get or not. I also have to see what they can do for weighting and so forth. I did a rough calculation off a density I found and sadly the knob I drafted (which is pretty damn small... just a round ball of about 1.75") weighed in at about .3 lbs when just made out of aluminum.

Yeah, I just did stainless calculations.. the little knob would weigh over .8 lbs. So that'd be about right then. I'll talk to the shop and see if they can do stainless... but that might be a painful cutting cost... we'll see!

Make it 2.0". 1.75" is too small for the Protege.

I'll second the vote for a brushed stainless sphere. My only request would be without a "neck".

I'm surprised by the neckless requests... I always personally hated that look... but I make whatever the customers want.. not what I want :)

something like the momo's I posted before. some neck is prefferable, especially if we wanna keep the boot from having a gap.

I am also quite interested. I like the engraved, but would prefer longer "legs" and no numbers. I am tending towards a short neck like the Momo's, or none at all. Not a long gradual neck. I want to be able to get a good grip.

Well Christmas wreaked havoc on all that is development for the most part. I'll hopefully get on it more this week. I will get quotes at the least I hope and we'll move on from there. I'll quote with and without the engraving. It seems the ball and ball w/neck styles are the most preferred among the voices in the thread so I will be pursuing those first. I will be starting with the ones with a neck. (will look somewhat like a lightbulb really) and will try to get prices with and without the engraving. It will be CNC'ed so engraving may just be an added cost there... so we'll see! I am working on it and have some models drafted.

Thanks guys!
