Bike Carrier

You can't use a 'hang off the back' bike rack on a 5.

The hatch is not metal, it's sort of a fiberglass shell, at least on the US models (I see you are in Germany?).

We have to use a roof rack or a hitch rack.

Lot's of posts about using bike racks going way back, try the search function.

Roof racks are either OEM (re-branded Thule, or Yakima's). There's maybe 3-4 hitch receivers, then all kinds of bike racks to fit them. Again, try the search function.

There's a thread just above this one about roof racks, been running since August of 2005, last post this evening.

Tks for the info. I did use the search function and browsed some of the topics but didn't see much about the type of rack I was inquiring about. Now I know why. Thanks.
