best motor oil

So, I emailed Exxon-Mobil and asked their tech section about my car, and they said, regarding using non-synthetic oil, "You are not doing harm but you are definitely not doing the best for your vehicle." They also have a oil selector: http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Car_Care/Vehicle_Chooser/VehicleChooser.aspx?option=2, which suggested just about every oil level they manufacture for everything from "Premium Protection" to "Superior Protection".
WTF? They can't even make up their minds!

I run Motul.

I stick with Total/elf or Eneos full syn.
These two deff. using one of the "ultimate" oil brands that you could run but why waist the $$$ if you don't have build engine and don't actually race(track) your MSP is for the owner to decide.

I used Mobil 1 full synthetic (10w30) and a K&N filter, changed every 3K, for all the years I owned my MSP.

This combo is by far the most common and suggested for any DD and some light race driving.

@robin - don't expect much from the exxon-mobil personnel unless you're involved in "race world", its technically useless to convince every person that asks about which/what oil to use since ppl will never follow and I believe they are not legally suppose to tell you what to use since each car is protected and guided by its manuf. recommendation etc. , bottom line is they give you some options but you(customer) have to make the right decision on your own.

FYI - As for "best" motor oil would mean to dedicate it for the "best" case scenario ex: dd, street race, track race, drag race. Each case therefore has a specific oil that would perform the best but there's more than 1 person that would try something different from the "book" and talk about it but thats just "try and error" and results are not that accurate over all.
