Best exhaust???

Thx alot for the responds. I might be going then for a header and maybe magnaflow or corksport but I don't want something too loud that will bring me tons and tons of tickets. Btw I read on magnaflow.com that their exhaust system isn't exceeding the limit for sound.
And could anyone tell me around how much $$ would installing a header cost?

Ok, first off w/ the Corksport you will probably need a silencer that bolts into the end of the muffler, second, not sure about everyone else but I did mine and I am not very mechanicly inclined. the only problem is, and again I'm not sure about the rest of y'all w/ the OBX Header but I had to use about 3 exhaust gaskets and a friend had to fabricate a 1/4" spacer.

If was the header for my car it sure didn't fit good. Research headers. Do your homework and if you must, spend alittle more for a header that fits.

Well I know magnaflow and corksport has a cat-back exhaust system designed for the P5 and I've looked at OBX and they have a header for the P5 aswell. I'll just be carefull to check the number of part if buying used. But will they fit together if they're both for the stock P5? And does anyone know if header will make too much noise? especially with the exhaust?

I've had the RB catback on for a few years, love it. Not some ricer racer howl, a nice grumble considering the inline 4. Fit and finish are nice too.

I get a more cabin noise, but I think my CAI gave me more than the RB. The other nice thing, NO DRONE in the car, none of those annoying resonating hums or rumbles that literally made me nauseas in my friends honda... *pukes*

header install, not bad at all, me and a buddy did it 3 hours one night, and 2 the next morning, it only took that long cause i got new gaskets, both head and exhaust. Its really not that hard at all, its just unscrewing a crap of stuff and rescrewing on the new parts, the how to about this in the how to section is great, i used it. Also dont forget about looks on your exhaust, i was thinking about the racing beat, but i ABSOLUTELY HATE THE DOUBLE(SHEATHED) TIP!!! im not nocking ppl who have it, its just a style choice and i think its ugly, just my 2 cents...

Other than OBX what other headers are there under $300 for a P5?

I would love to get a Vibrant or AWR but the mother f@ckers costs $500ea. They are both long tube style though.

I think the header makes the most noise lol...especially when you romp on it...with the OBX i had zero fit issues and the install was about an hour for me with 1 other person and it fit right up to the mid-pipe..I couldnt get the gasket of the stock manifold, it was pretty much melted to it so might wanna go to napa and get a new one before you do your header...combined with an obx mid-pipe and hks Hi-power the thing would scare away an angry banshee fo' sho...neighbors hated it even ideling

I got a warning, but i was in washington state, laws may apply elsewhere...I dont even know the specific law but the cop said he heard me from well over 5 lights down and i will admit i accelerated a little more agressive then i should have from the stop light...obx header, obx s-pipe and hks hi power axle-back

The copper had to have been bored. I have been a police officer for 15 years. The only way I would give someone an exesive noise ticket is if he was being a dick.

I was in edmonds, WA...They have real bad problems with street races there and several other surrounding citys so Me being in a bright yellow car with loud ass exhaust i stuck out like a sore thumb...maybe he thought i was trying to race cause i accelerated like i did and he got me on the on ramp right after the left hand turn at the light...i dunno, he wasnt an ass, after he saw my military I.D and learned that i was on leave from iraq his tone changed

We have a problem in St. Louis also. If I race, I try to keep on a closed corse. It's all good though. Keep it safe. Tonight it is raining but that doesn't stop some of the AWD guys. Some of those guys are idiots. Friday thru Sunday on Hall St.

no theres 2 resinators and one straight thru muffler wich is really a resiantor cuase its srtaight thru , thus I said 3 resiantors, and I still have my 2 cats
