Best aftermarket Remote Start for CX-5

The EVO-all is great if you just need a remote start. You can also pair it with a long range remote from Compustar or even connect a drone mobile to it. The install looks really simple too.

okay i just finished installing the fortin evo all , total time under 2 hrs . i didn't hookup the parking lights because i would have had to open up the column and i couldn't get to the wires . all in all its great the lights do come on if i leave them in the on position in the stalk. and yes the remote works to open the doors once you unlock the doors and open any one the system shuts off . there is no way around this . press the lock button on your key fob three times and she starts. is there anyway to turn off the horn it beeps after the second lock press on the remote ? any question let me know heres a video .https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10155226243565613&l=6510502555514790166

I actually had the Fortin Evo All installed in my 2014 CX-5 Touring, and I love it. It is so nice being able to use my OEM fob to start the car just by pressing the lock button 3 times. Best part was I still got to keep both of my fobs. Couldnt be happier!
i just installed its great

There actually is a way around the shutdown, but it requires you to wrap a spare key and bury it in the car. Not worth it in my opinion.

Btw, here's a write up on how to access the parking light wires. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?TID=137998

I'm interested in the Evo-All for my 2014 CX-5 GT. Let me get this straight...

you install a $99 system and get:

- remote start capability by pressing lock 3 times
- don't have to give up a key fob
- doors stay locked while car is running
- If you have "auto" lights, they will also be on while car is running
- only bad thing: when you open door it shuts off so you have to restart it

You have an alarm as well(which one?), or only remote start?

the evo-all can also control alarm functions. If your car doesn't have a factory alarm, it can add a basic alarm that monitors the door triggers. You can also upgrade it with the optional shock sensor to add more security. If your car has the OEM alarm, the shock sensor can be used to trigger it as well.

Co mustard remote start

Kelseyx, did you see any issues with car shutting down when doors are open, or remote fob not working to open doors when car is started? did you have to give up a key?

Thanks!

Mine does shut off when the doors are opened. Sometimes right away, but other times i have time to get in and apply the brake and it won't shut off. If I use the compustar remote to start it, I then have to use the compustar remote to unlock the doors too. The mazda remote won't work for some reason. I did have to give up a key for the remote starter. They take the microchip and battery out of the fob and wrap the chip with wire to send per to it when to remote start button is applied. I have had it for two years and haven't had any issues. I love it. Best Buy in Blaine Mn installed it and did a superb job.

The EVO-All is a damn good value. My compustar setup with drone, ezgo, and install came to nearly $500.

Could you please, write about this install in more detail?
What did you purchase, what type of key do you have(or works with this setup)?

You gotta get over the standard key vs the advanced key. These remote start units are compatible with the CX-5 period. Regardless of the keyless system. The only problem is that the OEM FOB may not unlock to doors on some units when the vehicle is remote started and that applies to the door handle request switch for the advanced keyless as well.

It's to confusing the hole thing, that is why I say that it would be nice if somebody who installed one, or knows about the system, to post a step by step, or some kind of information on how to install, what is needed and how it works.
I have never had a remote start in my life and I don't even know how they work.
I can repair most of my electronics, I can install all my electronics in my car, except alarms and remote start units.
I have even build from scratch, a DD carpc(Windows 8.1+ Centrafuse), which never ended up in any of my car, yet.
