Is changing the break pads and tranny oil(auto) any different from changing the oil in an 06 3i sedan than any other vehicle? i dont have ABS and what tools do i need for the tranny? changing out the tranny oil is also called tranny flush or is there actual steps to it? how much fluid of what weight and viscocity.

Im just getting back on my feet, and dont have too much money to throw at dealerships to do the work, so i want to do the work myself. im sitting at just a little over 30K and im going to get a wheel balance check today because of some vibration im starting to get through out the car at 55-60MPH and im going to get an inspection done and the check-list for the 30K mile warranty service. is there any real difficulty to it?

It's pretty much as basic as any tranission fluid change goes. Raise the car,
Drop the transmission cover to drain the fluid, and change out the filter; and re-seal the tranny with a gasket, or a hi-temp gasket maker. Make sure you tighten the screws accordingly. I don't have a shop manual for the Mazda 3 yet, but you're supposed to tighten each bolt/screw in a certain order so that you get a good seal, or else you'll leak fluid after you drive a few miles or so.

As for the brakes, unless you have drums, then the disc brakes on our cars are pretty much an easy swap of pads that you'd normally do on any car. Then again, I've swapped on cars that hasn't had ABS. Maybe someone can chime in any ideas as to what is different on a braking system when it comes to swapping out new pads for old. Like any sensors that may need to be handled with care when you dismount the pads..... Hope this somewhat helps.... Anyone have a handy ELECTRONIC shop manual for the Mazda3s/Speed3s?

Welp, the vibration was coming from the wheels being unbalanced so good thing that it wasnt anything major. So, i got them balanced by mazda. I dont have abs, so unless there are any sensors, i know i can do it, and while im at it im going to rotate the tires. Can anyone steal an FSM from their work and DL it to this forum? LMAO, it would go to good use if anyone does!

Get this, while i was at the dealership, they wanted to trade my car in for another mazda3. This one was 2.3 liter manual w/everything i want including moonroof. The downside is that it has 40K miles on it, with plenty of scratches to go around, and it was a year older than my car. guess what their asking price was? $21K! fvcking douches. test drove it though, the hatchbacks have a nice driving feel, but i noticed that the rear wants to kick out more than the sedans. Im guessing more weight in the back?

First off get some gm syncromesh ATF its better than anything in its price range and do what the others have stated

As far as brakes go there is not a difference in ABS/Non ABS when changing pads since its an electronically controlled pump that your ecu activates when it detects slippage. So id assume just swing out the caliper and re load new pads into it.
