im about to head to bed, but i would sure love to discuss military history sometime, and i will certainly read about your grandfather if not for any other reason but WWII is my favorite subject. i was a polysci minor in college before i joined the military, and us history is my favorite of any subject.
i think the politics thread was a bad idea but i think the iraqi freedome thread was equally ignorant. i don't bring up politics on here cause its a car forum but i sure as hell will give my opinion when other assholes are chimming in. don't ban the guy, just tell him if he does ne more stupid stuff like that thread he is gone. they didn't ban me after my little iraqi freedom thread his can't be worse. well mine only lasted a few minutes so maybe.

wow Ceej, my grandfather was sitting on a tank in France just cruising through the city when a frenchman (unhappy about having american troops on their soil) threw a grenade on their tank. It blew the back half of his skull off and blinded him for 4 years. He lived and was sent back to Georgia but refused to go on disability. Instead he got a job going door-to-door selling cigars. His wife (my step grandmother) walked him everywhere he went. She's a saint! One morning he woke and had near perfect vision after 4 years of blindness. He was so shocked he pissed himself and couldn't talk for 2 days. He wasn't a war hero, but he was a great man. It's amazing the amount of "real men" that are also soldiers. They must put something good in that water they serve.....I'm guessing honor.

My grandpa got drafted into the military in WWII along with his brothers. He was halfway across the Pacific when the war ended and helped clean up the Phillipines or something. When I was little he told me they heard he was coming and got scared and gave up, always thought that was funny.
you know matthew, you aren't a saint yourself- and I am not calling for your banning- if you don't like the thread don't post- some people are interested in politics and want to talk about it- defend your point of view or don't, nobody is forcing you to join in the thread

I think what Matthew was mad about was the fact that the guy doesn't post in any thread but political ones. It looks like he just joined to voice his opinion.

its nothing to do with anything opinion or political or whatever related. its the fact that he joined and discusses things SIMPLY to stir up problems, and has never contributed nor does he intend to contribute to this forum.
