Back firing

Hey guys, i just installed the corksport exhaust on my car, and since it doesnt have a spot for the o2 sensor its hanging out in the air. And of course my CEL came on and now my car backfires. Should i be worried about this damaging my car, and how can i fix it, short of having a Cat and the o2 sensor put in the pipe.

a cat won't help the backfiring. neither will putting the o2 sensor back in....though this will probably save you in terms of your mpg. i wouldn't be too worried about backfiring. worst case scenario, you'll blow the packing out of your cat and need to get a new one. chances of this happening? slim to none. mine backfires all the time. only thing that'll help this is if you get something to tune the fuel/timing maps.

alright, thanks a lot, just didnt wanna break anything. I plan on getting a AFC at some point when i have the money.

have a muffler shop weld in a highflow cat, I personally think it helps the drone on the highway too. i get compliments on the sound of my exhaust all the time too! after I had my corksport installed it backfired and now it does it rarely, i think maybe the highflow cat helped but not sure though

haha, magically make a hole for it. no way man, there's mechanics with shops who work on cars with tools now and s***, it's ******* trippy.

man these snosse berries taste like snoase berries, oh i'm tripping out man!(flash)

(super troopers)

yea just go to an exhaust shop a good reputable one and see what you can work out a highflow at is good but might screw with the CS warrenty? i don't know and have a hole made too

that's cool. in the meanwhile, since you still got some nasty backfiring, you should drive to jersey and drive through camden or through harlem in ny. so much fun

It could be as easy as an exhaust leak. Try checking your flanges.

LOL, thank you!
