AWD Mazdaspeed3

What does my seat time have to do? And yes, I did specify, I said Ferrari would crush them if they wanted to, because they dedicate more money to racing than other teams, I didn't say Prodrive. And, again, who does audi compete against in their class? A bunch of no name independant companies, thats who. Ferrari hasn't really wanted to fully dedicate itself to le mans ever since ford cleaned their clocks in the 60's, and you know why Ford did? Because they had more money. The teams with the most money (i.e. Chevy and Audi) are the ones that win in le mans. So does honda compete because mugen is a competitor and honda makes cars for honda? No, I don't think so.

And I have six events under my belt, more to come, just have to finish building the 240sx.

Whoever has the most money usually does win. When was this part of the argument? Are we done here?

My point is that I said Ferrari, not Prodrive, and that the awd from audi means nothing because they are competing against nobodies. Thats all, good night.

well here is the issue, people with the money , dont want to mess up the warrenty, people who dont car about the warrenty dont have the money...... i fall in the 2nd group...

Im curious at really just how much it would cost to do this? Have mrlilguy look this over if he hasnt already... he obviousely didnt car about his warranty lol and neither do I really. Hes built and has the 3071 turbo so if anyone would or could do this it would be him.

well im not too fond of having an awd car again but this would be definetly interesting to see how much it would be either way... plus i dont have the money also...

not that it isn't a cool idea, but would it really be worth the cost, and hassle with the existence of the speed6

So really without savaging though the last 7 pages... what all is neccessary for this. Just the rear differential from the Speed6 and a ass load of money and a shop to do lol.

why would it be an assload of money? the rear suspension is already setup for AWD, the rear end of it would require little modification (according DG) as it was already setup for it. I would think you need 2grand for brand new parts. labor would be a sticky issue, but hey its time to try it yourself.

it shouldnt be hard get the rear diff of of the awd valvo that is the same as ours then you get a speet 6 tranny or the part that goes on the tranny to drive the rear wheels weld it up so its a constant 50/50 redo the full tank and pray like hell it all works

I don't think the stock rear suspension is set up for awd. The chasis is ready, but not the multilink setup in the ms3 imo. The volvo s40/v50 use the same chasis (c1 platform) so it should bolt right in. The biggest problem should be the gas tank. Maybe the s40 gas tank could fit the ms3.

Maybe so, I don't have any links to the thread, but a guy who frequent's this forum knows one of the design techs and said that suspension was already set. Either that or DG motorsports stated that after a person e-mailed them about it.

This topic has been going on for a while and their is like 5 threads on ever forum, so I apologize if I cant get it to you, but its been stated.
