I have a 03 P5 with the Sportmatic trans. Is there any way to get this thing to move a little faster.
I have the Injen Cai, Mazdaspeed exhaust and OBX header. I know that all these parts have caused the car to lose some low end. But even if you try to launch the car it will not go over like 2.5grand. I don't remember the actual RPM but I know its low. Can we do anything to get better performance in this area.
I don't want to get into changing the gears, I don't want to lose any more gas mileage with gas prices these days.

you can get a shift kit that makes the car shift more aggresively or swap out for a manuel tranny

Do a search for threads pertaining to Level10. They have all sorts of goodies for the auto tranny. But they aren't cheap.

get a UD pulley, it's an easy install and brings a noticeable difference to low end power. It sorta makes up for the low end loss btw the CAI and the OBX header. RRracing.com sells one for 140, and you have to buy the belt for it which idk what size or how much they run for

Thanks I may have to look into the pulley.

I think I have looked at level10, do they do a bunch of Focus stuff as well?
If so the are not cheap at all.

manual tranny swap?

take out your auto tranny put in a manuel tranny my friend did it to her G20

my buddy called them and was about to order the level 2 tranny, the were gettin everything ready and, he decided not to because it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get it to him, its alot easier if you call them, there site is not the most friendlyist site..

well, if you aren't trying to spend too much money and you want to gain the low end power back that you lost from your other mods, the UD pulley is a great and inexpensive way to do it
