i never turned it (OD button) off b4 thats y. its always on. when i change my shifter, i dont feel like adding a button somewhere else if i dont need to - chris

im doing this exact setup except with aluminum and silver, no cf and black. no od button, unless i do like pirana and make on (the red on below the shifter). i dont see the point of making one if its safe to keep it on and wired together 24/7 - chris

ok i see wat u mean now, im sure u can wire it to stay on but you should make a button like the one in the pic, IMO it looks pretty cool

I always use the O/D button to downshift and keep the RPM down.

when i rebuild mine and then get the level 10 tranny, you will def recall that statement.

and also you dont see big blocks running manuals why? because manuals cant handle that much torque, you always use th400s or a c4 or somthing.

autos kick ass, plus i drive rush hour everyday and that makes for a nice luxary. plus autos are sweet draggin, i dont loose boost like a manual and i can launch WAY faster then a manual.

i will admit STOCK autos do suck, thats why im rebuilding mine.

but thats also why the auto supra is faster then the manual supra... the point of this is to help the guy with the auto. not talk about which is better, there are other threads for that.. post them there.

Yeah, auto sucks, oops I mean my auto sucks. But its true the autos are better at handling more power. Power in the upper reaches that we dont make. But also is a dream to drive on traffic. My cousin hates his MSP since he drives 50 miles each way to work on rush hour traffic Umm, auto MSP, maybe I can convince him to trade trannies, hehehe.

PS-the worlds fastest street supra uses an auto tranny.

I cut mine around 3" lower. You just got to cut the release rod (plastic) too.

About the OD switch, I may be wrong since our autos are electronic, but I think that switch actually controls a solenoid. When you put power to it the solenoid changes the setting (OD>no OD), it doesn't matter which way you start, when you put power to it the setting changes. Therefore, I believe if you wire it "always on" eventually you'll burn the solenoid up because it will always be activated. I'd think it would be much better just to find a hidden location for a switch, and make sure you get a MOMENTARY switch.
