As an alternative to the spool turbo kit, you could consider the Modern Performance turbo kit. You can PM MPNick or myself for info. Please note that I am only a proxy for MPNick as he does not have the spare time I do to spend hours on the forum.

I actually don't make anything from MPI - I do it to help out. I have never been paid one cent by MPI. Show me one other "authorized vendor" who can say that. I'm on here for the fun of it, and the interesting info I can find on the forum.

If you have a good product than you should'nt need to thread jack on this one, people are trying to find out what is going on with terry not what other turbo kits are out there.

I've got no personal stake here. As far as "fringe benefits" - yeah he lets me put my car up on the lift. MPNick, is a friend of mine. We talk about cars, computers, and all sorts of stuff. Friends help each other out.

I wasn't stealing a customer, just pointing out an open option. Sorry if that offends you - but I don't see anything wrong with it.

It is alittle wrong to start pushing business in this thread. I talked to terry today, he said he'll get on the forums soon and explain everything to everyone. As for the time being, hes taking care of the last set of orders, and alot of other things that need to bedone before the shop is transfered over to the new owners.

I) Wagner Motorsports
II) Flyin' Protege
III) Hi-Boost
IV) Ion Performance
V) custom...

Calling him a dick is pointless, wasteful, and childish. This board is meant to help people find options for modifications to their cars. Not to mention the fact that this thread isn't a "Boo-hoo for you Spool" thread...it's exploring the situation and the alternatives. I do not feel that it was in bad taste for Micah to suggest his package, and I don't think it would be in bad taste for others to do so as well.

In fact...if the Spool situation is really the case, then another market segment has opened up for these other vendors, and they should be taking notice. I have nothing against Spool, like I said previously...I was hoping to get stuff done by him if I got a job down there. I hope that things go well for Terry in the future...

this thread has to do with terry and spool turbo...not turbo systems itself...theres a time and place to promote your products and this is just not the thread to do so....if you had consideration for others, you wouldnt have posted what you did...but since you did, might as not cry about it....terry brought turbos into the protege world and this thread and the people posting are concerned about him...not where they can buy their turbos from now...thats what a search button is for...leave your posts that have nothing to do with this thread off...have some class

Couldn't have said it better myself. When I first joined this board (back when you could count the number of turbo'd Proteges on one hand), everyone was all about openness, sharing of information, support for forum members, and most especially vendor support. Hell, Spool's business was pretty much started here! Now, I see a broken community, rampant lack of trust and good faith, and overall it seems like this community has been shoving people in the toilets for petty reasons, if for no reason at all.

I, for one, happen to support and encourage aftermarket development for our beloved Pros. Not very many companies out there will develop for us because this market is relatively small compared to other models and makes. Of those that do, very few will actually hop on the forums and answer questions, give advice, and request consumer feedback like those here (Keith/FP, Nick/Perfworks, Terry/Spool, Tom/Kartboy to name a few). There has been a lot of division lately and it's really impacting the future of this board and the Protege market.

Then this thread should be moved to the off-topic section or a new one regarding the sale of Spool and wishing, Terry the best. I do feel bad for people, and the situation sucks...I just lost my job a couple weeks ago, so I can actually relate. But this thread is:

a) in the forced induction tech section, implying that that's what it's about.
b) started out with the question of what was happening to Spool the company
c) Other people jumped on and took it off topic saying this is what we were gonna get, where do we look now. I didn't think that this thread had become an official eulogy.

As to your comments on me...I'll address you privately. But like I said...I do wish Terry the best, and hope that things turn out Ok.

It goes both ways servo, you are right in what you said. But some of the vendor bashing is from vendors themselves.

If you reaserch what I'm talking about, look at some of Terry's posts, or even some questions that were aimed at SPOOL. Alot of those got threadjacked from other vendors. This is wrong too. You shouldnt try to steal any buisness by proving how your company does it better, and how your company knows more. Like was said before, if the other companies product is better, then the custumer will make that decision in the long run.

Agreed...it's happened more than a few times in the MSP section and it's uncalled for. It's made me wary about a couple of vendors themselves. hopefully, if Terry's up for it, he'll find backing and a place to continue doing work on proteges, s2000s, corollas, and whatever else tickles his fancy. He's great at this stuff, and understands the motor like very few people do.
