I moved to Vegas about 8 months ago, I like it ok. I am in the military so finding a job was not hard for me since military is a guaranteed. My wife on the other hand has been looking for six months and not found anything but temp work. I wish you luck, will you be buying a house or just renting? This place has so many apartments and housing opportunities it is rediculous. I just bought a house and I am very pleased with my investment. I bought the house for $150,000 new and could sell it as is right now for $175,000. Just in six months my house is worth 25,000 more. Property values are sky rocketing. I live in the Northwest area by anne rd. as mentioned before. It is out by Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I like it alot and would reccommend living in this area. There are not alot of apartments in this area though. Tons of houses for rent, as a matter of fact one right next to me. Ask more questions I am sure we can find a answer.

Hey, cool, thanks BlueMP5Dave for the sage words! We're seriously considering moving out there for the future and our relationship. Where we are now isn't the best (living w/his sis and her friend) at least for my hubby and I becoming a stronger couple. Also, 95% of our friends and family will be out west within the next 5-10 years.

What does your wife do? I'm an admin assistant and my hubby's an auto tech specializing in imports. We're also looking to rent to start with. Any more advice you can give would be greatly appreciated! :D

Yeah...www.lvrj.com is a great resource.

Hahaha, notice how lvrj.com turns into reviewjournal.com. I'm behind that ;)

Guess it's time to move, too many people are moving to vegas now.

Either way, traffic is still light (except from the NW to downtown commute), cost of living is still low, and housing keeps on rocketing!!

hey if you're serious about moving down here, I can look into some prices on properties for you-- I'm a realtor. I'm sure you know already, but renting tends to be a waste of money unless you suspect that you might not get approved for a loan right away. The wise thing to do would be to check all of your options, renting or buying. I'll be happy to help you with it unless of course, you've already got somebody taking care of you. PM me for any of your vegas real estate needs.

Good deal shaolin! Whew, a lot has changed here within the past two weeks. We just moved here in MD and unfortunately the Vegas plans have been put on hold temporarily. I'm hoping we can get out there within a year or two now. Thanks very much for the offer, I will definitely take you up on that when we get out there. I know the value of a good Realtor, I used to work in a real estate office. They're not just there to find you a house, Realtor's are your connection to your new neighborhood and often the first friend you make in a new area. Thanks a lot for your help! :D

I'm happy to oblige:D , and good luck with all of your current endeavours...moving can be really stressful...especially to a new area, so don't hesitate to contact me.

Is there any work for a Computer IS Admin or a Travel Agent? My Wife's family live in Pahrump and we are thinking of moving to Henderson/Seven Hills area. Got married there last St. Patrick's day and fell in love with the whole place. I just love the Black mountain area........I just might find a place to ride my mountain bike out there.......

There's plenty of travel agent work out here, as well as computer admin. Just check out monster.com

Well just PM me for any of your real estate needs in vegas...
