I just got finished with the install. The car ran perfect for about an hour. All of a sudden the check engine light went on, the car started to overheat and the heat did not work. Now everytime I drive around for 5 minutes the car overheats. I put the heatshield back on. Any advice? Thanks

Bump this thread. MY car is currently in the shop awaiting this upgrade. I really would love some information on why this is before its too late for me. Has anyone with this turbo had any similar problems??

It sounds like
1. you didn't purge the cooling system of air.
2. your thermostat is oddly broken (Not as Likely as 1)
3. your water pump is broken (Not as Likely as 1)
4. your electric fans are not coming on.

The CEL is probably from the overheating issue, Fix that and it should go away.

How badly did you let it overheat. Be careful not to warp the head, you will be seeing the engine in it's component parts if that happens.

I might not be the best to answer this question because I havent taken anything apart yet in the MS6, but it almost sounds like you may have forgotten to reinstall coolant pipe ... Prob the one going to the heater core. This would explain why there is no heat, and if your losing coolant, that will explain the overheating issue

it was #1, u need to refill the lost coolant through the radiator cap, not the resevoir... another thing: if your getting this kit installed get it to a dyno for a/f and boost reading before you take it out!!!!!!!!

What kind of A/F are you seeing? I'm having a hard time deciding between the 71 and 76.
Please PM me if you have any dyno numbers, I'm curious to see what's happening.

Wow, I hope for you that you did not do any very serious damage to your heads.

Running with air where there should be coolant can warp the heads, cook oil and totally **** head gaskets.

Keep a close eye on your oil for coolant and get the oil changed if it smells burnt at all..
