Are the stock radios RDS-compatible?

Does anyone know if they are? I read somewhere else about a guy who took his stock radio apart, and one of the ICs was an RDS demodulator. There's no RDS logo on the radio, so I'm wondering if they truly are, or if RDS protocol is being used in a hard-wired fashion. It they truly are over-the-air RDS compatible, I have some ideas I'd like to try out...

I know they are on EU models...... I never figured out why they would have it available there, but not here.

Seems silly that they wouldn't be. But I don't think any of the Mazda radios are. (In the US at least).

Nope, they aren't. Not even CD-Text compatible.

yeah, would be a cool feature to have. My 08 Lancer had it and it was very nice.
