ARD Help Needed --- ADVAN WHEELS

FYI,

ADVANS ARE NOT FORGED. They are overpriced cast wheels manufactured by Enkei Japan for Yokohama. I can get you the Advan Model V and will check pricing.

If you really don't want to get ripped on some wheels and want to spend that much then get a Volk or Rays or Forged 5Zigen wheel.

I can get you the Advan but feel very guilty doing so cuase it's the price of a forged wheel but not. And I've seen them crack several times. Esp model V and VII.

I have never seen nore heard someone brek their rim from driving except in extreme circumstances such as Le Mans. Of course our cars don't put that kind of pwer down so you need not worry. I think the Rota's are forged though

Man that's pretty amazing if Rota's are forged cuz they are pretty damn inexpensive

Did not know Advan was made by Enkei. I did know though that Advan was made for Yoko. My brothers Celica GTS came stock with Advan tires by Yoko. Good info though Rishie.

i've seen a wrx snap the center off of a knockoff volk ce28, clean. its was during an auto-x. he got out, chased the rest of the rim and rolled it back. his car needed a whole new front right. including suspension, camber plates etc. it was really bad. they couldn't get the car off the course for like 30min.

where you in houston for this?

this guy's rota attack broke off at the hub during a hard corner. they were bronze. what happened was that rota didn't completely powdercoat the backside of the hub on the wheel. oxidation occurred and slowly ate thru the wheel. finally it snapped at all five spokes meeting pt. with the hub. rota covered all the repairs to the WRX.

this is the ONLY case reported that i have heard. i have friends with rotas, and they have had no problems with their powder-coating or the wheels in general. i highly reccomend them.

Speaking of Advans, I stopped by a local performance shop Bozzspeed in Fremont and they had a few different styles of Advan wheels on display. Model 5, Model 6, RC II, Kreuzer Series V, Kreuser Series X, and the Classic Advan RG. Although I know the Advans are way the hell out of my price range, I know one of their sales reps pretty well and he tempted me with a very, very nice price on the RG and Kreuser Series X. I forgot how light the RG feels (15 lbs for the 17x7.5) and I know the VOLK SE37K (14.75lbs for the 17x7.5) and are a tad lighter, but damn those things are light. Rishie if still correct, even though the RG's are nice they are an over priced Cast wheel.
