apex downpipe

how much more are the gain differentials in the catless than w/the hi-flow??
not sure on the exact gains from single cat to catless but it will be better. but you will not be emissions freindly and if you get cought you can be fined. i think here in nj its a $10,000 fine.

MIL = Malfunction Indicator Lamp, it's another name for the CEL.

The product is called the "MIL Eliminator"

:)
damn, i tried to sneak my way outta that by just telling him how it worked :)

Hey prospeed I saw you have the Apex down pipe with the cat. Have you had any emissions problems with that? Do you have to take it off and put your stock downpipe on to pass emissions?

Thanks...

Installed my Greddy SP2 this weekend. DP ordered did not come with gasket, hardware, and MIL. So that won't go on until the parts come in.(uhm)

The Greddy SP2 is AWESOME! Even with the factory cats and downpipe the car pulls smoother and harder. Its got a low angry growl and is not loud at idle. I highly recommend getting the GREDDY SP2. The car seems a lot faster off the line and at highway speeds.

Stay tuned for the results of the downpipe install and pics of both on the car.(yippy)

Interesting Prospeed. I'm in the GB for the Corksport and just started researching high flow cats. The Magnaflow is pretty cheap too. I want to add the cat to the CS and be doen with it. I don't want to have to use the MIL eliminator, and want to be able to pass emissions.
Anyone else running a DP with cat without the MIL eliminator? If so, what type of hi-flow cat are you using?
Thanks(canada)

There are also mechanical fixes for the O2 sensor instead of a MIL eliminator. I'll look for the thread on Nasioc ("mechanical O2 fix" if you want to do the search). It is a little nicer since you don't have to solder onto the O2 sensor and is completely reversible.

Thanks for the link mbiker97 !
I hope that after i weld a hi-flow cat into my exhaust, i won't have to worry about the CEL or emissions.

DP with hi-flow cat and emission

Has anyone actually passed emission testing with an Apex downpipe, and hi-flow cat?

The only difference between a regular cat and hi-flow cat is its construction and flow characteristics. Do you think a car manufacturer is going to spend 100+ dollars each on a cat? No, they are going to make the cheapest, and unfortunately the most restrictive, cat they can produce. Both of them scrub the air the same, and if the computer can't tell the difference, I don't see how a sniffer would. But, no sniffing in VA so w00t w00t!

Has anyone installed the 3" catless dp, just deciding between the 2.5 and the 3 and wondering about the pros and cons.

what u can drive around catless in VA??

You can, but you won't pass inspection. Another MSPer around here has the catless dp from Apex and he hasn't had any problems.

unless you're going for high boost pressures a 2.5 is fine.
How much is high, someday day I would like to boost around 13-14, is it still worth going to the 3", and will the performance gains still be around the 10-12whp (stock boost) range with the 3" or is there the posibility of more.
