Anyone take thier MSP in for the 10k mile tune up?

My dealerships service manager thought my boost gauge and turbo timer were cool as hell. Maybe he won't mind my MBC and cat-less pipe. :) (laugh)

I think it's pretty obvious that for many posters here, it is their first time dealing with a dealership. They are all that way, newbies!

And to the person who says he "doesn't have time for that paperwork B-S", wait until you sell your car. When a potential buyer asks ""do you have your service records?", I guess you'll just have to tell them "Nah, I think the only purpose of paperwork is to wipe my ass with it."
Idiot...

Not trying to be a dick but I'm def not a newbie to dealing with dealers.

I had no problems trading in my 98 Ford Explorer with 65,000 miles or my Dad with his BMW. Either the dealer were completely stupid or just didnt bother checking. They just asked if my service was up to date and I said "yes." The linclon LS is the next to go...maybe trading it in for a cadilac and we changed the oil ourselves...im confident they wont have any problems with that. but who knows...they seem to be pickier and picker each time we trade cars. of course non of those cars had any major warrenty work performed except The LS just went in for a broken vacum line

Oh and I talked them into giving me a extra $600 on the trade in...they must have been desperate to get rid of the speed.

Note: I would try my best to keep records...it cant hurt you. And who knows it might even save your ass. I'll keep the recipts next to my time slips form the track in my glove compartment...j/k! I still think those oil changes and 10K check up are a joke...just easy money for the stealership. Of course I dont plan to trade my car in...im driving it into the ground :)

^---- That REALLY pisses me off.

From now on I'm doing my own s*** and I'm gonna document it all :(

*edit*

I just looked up the prices for the :

15K - $220
30K - $440

Exactly **** THAT!
I REFUSE to pay for some lame ass s*** like that. They can inspect it all they want but I am not paying for it. I do all my own maintenance and I provide them with all my receipts to scan in for their records.
My dealer is very accommodating to me so I like them and they never tried to charge me for the "service." They even wash it and dry it for free after they work on it.
Then they call to verify that it was done right, completed on time, that it was washed and that it was driven around to me.
They called five times in three days leaving messages until I called them back just so they could get my response. They get all a's from me

Well its hard to understand what your saying above, but yes just keep your receipts for the stuff you buy to use for doing your own maintenance. Complete sentences, slow down. (laugh) j/k

Scheduled Maintenance

OK.. I have a 2002 Protege5 (whitep5). I can't find any specific 15k maintenance for the car... (hah) ... is this supposed to be different for P5? In the schedule, the big service is coming up at 24 months / 15k miles. The only thing specific to 15k miles other than oil change is Refrigent amount and Compressor operation.

Can't find anything about the Allignment either
